I play mostly 40K but years ago I purchsed the Orc/Goblin Boxset. I started to form an all-gobbo army and I bought a lot of stuff. To make a long story short, I lost interest, never played and the minis were boxed up and put on the shelf.
I have a large Wolf Rider unit and a 6 boxes of Goblins (4x Goblin; 2x Night Goblins)
I consider myself new to the army and so my question to you fine Gobbo lovers is simply this... Is it still possibel to have an all Goblin army and expect to do half-decent in a game??
I realize that Orks are your "power-players" in the army, but I liked the idea of an army of little Goblins. I have a Doom Diver, Rock Lobber and Spear Chukka. I have a couple of Stone Trolls and multiple Fanatics.
From experience, can an all Goblin army work? I started to look at it and thought that it would be really squishy. Anybody else do this?

I dont see any reason why not, i know a guy with an all night goblin army and he does very well against most players.
The way to win is by having huge units, 30+. He swears by it.
Think numbers aswell, outnumbering, 3 ranks and a standard is a good start to a fight.
Good luck on this project.

Yea, it's possible...
To be honest it is alot of work, as your units should, as mentioned, be 30+... If you feel up for it, it isn't really that bad even when you think about it from a competitive point of view...

Its definatly possible, I'm a fan of units of 36 gobbos (6 by 6), slap in a lot of fanatics... and a lot of magic (gobbo shamans can mush a lot of things) and you have a pretty competitive list.
Realistically a lot of troops will probably bolt... but you get that with gobbos... just imagine the vast numbers you can have.... you lose 100 models... and its not all that bad really...

Goblin armies can work. But yeah, take units of at least 30, though 36 does work well. If you're looking for bait, get a 24 unit of night goblin archers, and put in 3 fanatics, and line them up 12x2, to make it look like a genuine shooting unit. And definately get some shamans. Preferably Night Goblin ones with Magic Mushrooms
I guessing but I think something like a gobba army will do very well against some armies, with their quirky units and large numbers (OK and Beastmen comes to mind), but against others such as Undead or any army which has a gimik/magic weapon/whatever that auto-causes running or panic test and you've lost.
I played an all-common goblin army. It's fun. Any horde army is tough. So many models, where do you get your points.
Open it up to night goblins and take smart magic items to offset army deficits, and you'll put up a stiff fight.
this seems like a good place to post a little story of mine, about a month ago i played a friend who owns about 8 differant armies and what he ends up using on the day is a mystery.
now, i arrived with 2500 points of goblinz to find that he was usin a all out orc force lead by Morglum Necksnapper! u can imagine my face now i had no skarsnik, no grom, just generic characters but i didnt give up, i had to be round my girlfriends at 9, and it was a very close game, so in the end we called it a draw it wasnt untill i got home i realise that i had 'drawn' with an elite orc army using just goblinz! so even tho i didnt win per say, it was the most enjoyable game ive had in years, and thats a major victory in my eyes
do goblinz, they make u smile =D
An all goblin army can be very competitive under the correct circumstances. Large units mean you will always outnumber and have max ranks. Wolf riders can easily flank, giving you a significant advantage over your opponent in battle. Be very careful of terror causing units, as any panic checks will cause your unit to flee off the board.
When goblins deployed in bluk ,well take down anything. put them in front of other units with spears and you'll see them fleeing before you. Trough in other things like spider riders and wramachines to do some hard hitting you will have some victories under you belt.
