I have a question about squig hoppers and squig herds. In the old army book I believe that hoppers were added to herds (1 hopper for every 3 squigs) and took one special choice. In the new army book it seems that hoppers and herds are two separate units (hoppers being skirmishers and herds being normal ranking units) taking 2 special choices. I haven't found any FAQs or posts about this so I assume that I am correct in thinking that hoppers no longer join units of herds?
My next question is for a bit of advice. I have Black Orcs and Spear Chukkas as two of my special choices for a 2000 point army, which leaves me with two more choices available. I had originally planned on filling those spots with hoppers and squigs because I love the models and was planning on making my army as random as possible. But i'm thinking I need a little more flanking power/mobility in my army in the form of either chariots or boar boyz. So should I forgo the squigs to make room for cavalry? I'm guessing it would be helpful to get a rough idea of my army list so here's a general overview:
Black Orc Warboss, orc shaman, night golin shaman, orc warboss (battle standard)
20x Night Goblins w/ fanatic
20x Night Goblins w/ fanatic
19x Orcs w/ shield and spear
19x Orcs w/ shield and choppa
20x Black Orc
2x Goblin Spear Chukka
Goblin Doom Diver
yes, squig hoppers are a seperate unit now.
They're now a fast punch-packing assault-"cavalry" unit.
so if you wan't both, it'll cost you 2 choices!
for your army thing, i'd take some hoppers (run em on the flank, perhaps next to the giant) and a chariot!
Yeah, the hoppers are a separate unit now. Though you should never underestimate the value of a large squig herd (as you can use some extremely underhanded tactics with them). For your remaining two special choices, I would suggest a rock lobba and some form of squig herd.
Hope this helps!

Honestly I think your missing one of the best strengths in a O&G army, the fast cav. IMHO they are the best unit for bait and flee, march blocking, WM hunting, mage hunting etc. In your army I think it's a needed element that's missing from your army.
To stay in line with some other suggestions. You could drop the giant and add another DD and some hoppers. That frees up points and adds the rock thrower. More importantly it keeps a special slot open. Putting Char's in chariots also keeps your special slots open so that's an option to keep in mind.
I wouldnt mind hearing some of these underhanded tactics that hoppers can use.
