Hello! I'm looking to pick up a new army since I have finished My Empire list now. I'm completely torn between Orc & Goblins, and Wood Elves. So I'm Turning to the LO community to help me with this decision. I'm posting this on both the Orcs & Goblins and Wood Elf Forums and I would like everyone to post the ups and downs to the army and what makes it fun for them to play! Like I said before, I'm at a 50/50 split in deciding on my new list... So please help me !
The way I see it, O&G are the most fun army. That is my opinion, but of most of the people who play O&G also. They are so unpredictable that you can out-tactic your opponent, only to see your flank charge ruined by your units fighting each other! From snotling pump wagons to fanatics to squigs, I love the randomness of O&G, whether the good or bad. You also have to see whether you like playing a high point based army (WE), or more of a swarm (O&G, though not always, depends on list). I play both O&G and WE, and I personally enjoy O&G more, as whether for good or bad, I know my opponent and I are going to have a great time playing with them.

NG Army (The Very Little WAAAGH) 6-1-0
Yeah, very different armies, like Xadrian says.
Wood Elves are very much about control. Controlling the movement phase, picking combats, selective shooting. You can't crash pell mell into the enemy with Wood Elves.
Orcs and Goblins, though, have a great deal of randomness. You have to accept that they might surge, sit still, send a fantatic through their own ranks, or have a nasty miscast. But OG pack a wallop in combat that Wood Elves find hard to match. And their characters are rock hard fighters. OG magic is better, too. WE magic is mainly about defense or assisting the army, not hurting the enemy.
