Hey all, I was playing a game the other day against an O&G player, and he had fanatics. When he rolled the scatter dice he kept getting hits, and we (he) decided that he got to decide the direction. I've checked my O&G book and the FAQ but it doesn't say how it works, so I came to you.
Thanks in advance.
If you look closely the "hit" side of the dice has an arrow on it.
The only time a player chooses the direction his fanatic will travel is the first turn it is released. After that they are bound to the scatter die.
The blocky arrows speak for themselves. But the 'hit' on the scatter die has an arrow for the "i". When 'hit' is rolled the fanatic moves in the direction this arrow points, not where the O+G player chooses.
The only time a fanatic moves in an even vaguely non-random fashion after the first turn of its release is during the Waaagh! spell from the Big Waaagh!. At this time they will move 2d6" towards the nearest visible enemy.
