i tend to take my savage boyz with double hand weapons. Frenzied and double hand weapons equal 3 attacks for every boy. I have never lost a combat, and have run down many enemies. I slaughtered cold-ones, saurus warriors, horrors, screamers, chaos warriors, and many many more. Some may say their armor sucks, but just think about 40k. Most core orcs have 6+ armor saves, while savages have 6+ ward saves. pretty nice i'd say. Charging into close combat is deadly with this combo, and being frenzied that shouldn't be too hard, seeing they have to charge the closest enemy. Now this could be a bad thing, but my opponents havent figured out how to set traps for the frenzied troops. hehehe.... Frenzied combined with the WAAAAAGGGGGH!! spell means death. so, anyone have different configurations? (I'm trying to get this forum to gain some popularity, so any orc players, please contribute)
You can't have GW's on boyz. You must be talking 'bout black orcs ;/
For my common goblins, i like to have light armour, shield and handweapon.
4+ save 3 point gobbos in a big unit can take alot actually
... unless they're flankcharged.
But thats what my snotlings protect them from. WOOOONDERSNOTLINGS!, mind you.
yeah, im actuallly surprised how well my night gobbos do while fighting, as long as you set them up for success. Charging into a unit of chaos warriors.......yeah, they suck, but against skinks, my goblins owned them. 6 pts a model, while my 2 point models beat them in close combat, very very nice.
