The title says the most... VC, Empire, DE (and maybe the other new armies too - I don't have the books) have the same prices on common magic items, but O&G pay different.

How comes that orcs are different. Is it one of many orc army book mistakes or are orcs just not common?!
Sorry if it has been discussed, i'm new in the forum...
basically, because the orcs are horde army, thus making characters a bit lower quality than the rest. thus making magic stuffs cheaper. look at Ogres for the other end of the spectrum. their characters are extremely powerful, and thus they can make more use of their magic items, making them more expensive.
What is wierd though, is that O&G characters can be extremely powerful if kitted out properly, if you do it right they can even take down a khorne lord of doom! but hey, more power for us!

Also, they had to be reduced as we have other magic items that can do pretty much the same thing or MORE for the same points cost- for the BRB cost of biting blade you can get a weapon for your goblin that can give an extra -2 to the save- which am I gonna take? Hence the revision in points. (Also I think Martogs best masha is a similar point here with one of the orc only magic items- I can'rt remember which one though)
Basically our orfc only magic items are too cheap for what they do. SHAME!
They jacked up the cost of armor items and lowered the cost of magic weapons. Note the cost of the enchanted shield as opposed to other armies' costs. They meant for orcs to be an aggressive army led by lots of cheap characters toting cheap magic weapons.

But though orcs are meant to have cheap offensive weapons i think it's stupid that we no longer have the drogs dead ard amour (1+ save) since we now only have 2 rather useless amours. Also orcs have no flammable attacks to take regeneration from fx varghulf - that would be useful. I actually think it's the only army which can't get flammable attacks??
Possibly. But then again OI rarely make use of flaming anyway, though I can see that playing vs. VCs makes saves and regen useful.
Let me point you towards 2 v useful items. Firstly we have the amulet of protectyness. So your opponent spent loads of points beefing up his characters save? Challenge him and hit him with your magicky weapon that you had the points left over to buy. Also, BOrc, boar, h. armour, Eshield gives a 1+ save for few points and has only eaten 15 points into your item allowance. Plus the Warboss is v tough too. Give him a decent enchanted item or talisman and he's well away (he's armed to da teef remember!)
Yes protectyness is very useful. I never use Armed to da teef (is it that good?). Screaming sword most of the time since my opponent often keep his heroes together. My opponent often use his magic points to improve his casting so he only has 1+ amour save. Vamp lord. (maybe great axe would do good in the hand of a black orc against 1+ save)
My biggest problem is, that even if i should succeed killing his general, the unit will still stand because of ItP and i will most likely get flanked since he has more units than me. Then my general flees and is pursuit and killed.
yes, its a free great weapon OR 2 choppas. Flexibility is key. Plus a BSB can use ATDT too.I never use Armed to da teef (is it that good?).
