Just a quick question.. Is it legal to have 2 separate Black Orc units in an army? Like one of dual wielding choppas and one of great weapons? I couldnt really find an exact rule in the rulebook or the armies book. I might have missed it
Im under the impression that the Armed to da Teef rule allowed them to choose 2 choppas or GW whenever they liked.
yea you can choose to use two choppas or a great weapon at the start of each combat, or if you pay the points for shields you can give them choppa and shield which gives them a armour save of 3+... they are pretty cool units
When I field a regiment of black orcs, it inevitably gets targetted by all sorts of spells, artillery and high powered attacks. By the time it reaches combat, my regiment has lost more than half its numbers.
How do you guys play your black orcs effectively?
Yeah.. but what i meant is...ok heh. With the previous version of the Orcs & Goblin army book, when it talked of points, it said "0-1 Black Orc Regiment" Only other unit that had that kind of title were the snotlings.. The "0-1" part. So what i was wondering if that meant you're only loud a maximum of 1 unit/regiment in your army? But i guess with that new rule, having 2 separate squads for weapons seems pointless. Heheh i was just doin it for the look of a unified squad
Well strong units are inevitably going to be targeted. For magic. Take a shaman of your own and get the staff of sneaky stealin on a goblin shaman. Gives you some nice magic resistence. Theres nothing to really do against artillery accept hope for a misfire or a plane miss. maybe have a unit of five sacrificial fast cav occupy the enemy for a turn to get your black orcs up there. Or this could possibly work though it could fail pretty bad, have your black orcs in one rank if its a unit of 20 and when you get close enough take your turn to form them back into three ranks. that could make artillery pissed off, But i ve never done it because it takes a turn to reform.
EDIT: Oh and one more thing. High powered attacks such as Bretonian knights have not been a problem for my black orcs. Maybe thats because no more than one or 2 got killed in first combat. But usually when i ve played black orcs they almost always break a cavalry attack. maybe im just lucky but it works.
Oh and DO NOT FORGET THE WAGGGGHHHHH!! it can help so much.
