Welcome to Librarium Online!
I made this post because i,m interested in so killer combo´s,
with this i mean combination of units/characters/items/banners etc
that work really great together.
ive got an example, i dont know if it works do, maybe somebody with expierence
can tell me if it does
but my killer combo is
-black orc warboss on boar with (the horn item dunno the name but that gives me bonus leadership and enemy minus) and ukrit axe. best boss add)
-orc bigboss on boar ,standard bearer with (banner of butchery)
-both hero´s in a unit of 8 normal boar boys with full command
if i got it right this units now has (on charge, with use of banner)
-5 warboss strenght 6 attacks (with hit rerolls)
-4 bigboss strength 5 attacks
-3 champion strength 5 attacks
- 2x2 normal boys strengt 4 attacks (5 when upgrade to big uns)
- 5 boar strength 5 attacks
this unit is accopnied with a unit of 3 trolls and a giant.
the combo is that all unit got arround equall speed meaning trolls can test ad leadership 10. the horn item gives opponents minus 1 leadership so they have more chance failing the giants terror or trolls fear tests. when the boars with either trolls or the giant hit home i cant imagen losing the combat meaning i win it with a fear/terror causing unit so they will flee.
with this 3 units going for 1 flank there are few things that can stop it. i hope . also by far most points are infested in the boar unit so i try to put them behind the giant or trolls so they cant be target easily.
if you guys know effective combinations like this 1 please let me know <

Isnt the horn just a bound item that can be dispelled?
If so you need some good magic spam (read: at least two spellcasters with their bound items) in order to have your horn go through.
Also, two characters in a single 8 cav' unit? Seems like a shooting, magic and fear/terror/panic check magnet.
Heaven help you if they squabble and you roll high for the hits =)
If you stick your general and BSB out on a flanking mission in a fast moving unit, where's the rest of the army getting LD from? =)
That unit is walking around with a bonus 300 victory points embedded in it on top of its already high cost.
To cause an insane courage test the actual fear causing models have to outnumber, the boar boys don't contribute to that total, so you'd only have US15 in fear causers. (Which could still easily outnumber what's left of a block if they do eat the charge.)
I would usually take the Waaagh Banner over Butchery for boar boys. Making sure they get there is the most important thing.
The sort of lame selection of magic items for OnG means there aren't a whole lot of 'interesting' combos. A couple of common ones are.
Goblin BigBoss on wolf with One Hit Wunda and Brimstone Bauble
30+ Boyz w/ Choppa+Shield accompanied by BSB with Spirit Totem
Not exactly the same, but its not a good idea to put soo many points in one unit.
I once played against an Orc and Goblin guy, an all goblin army i think, he put two characters in a massive goblin unit. Cant remember what did it now but i caused a panic test and that whole unit ran away and never returned.
Against Brets and similar heavy cavalry loving armies, my favourite trick is a Savage orc great shaman on a wyvern with waaagh! paint, the screaming sword and amulet of protectyness(i think). Fly it into a unit of heavy cav (preferably the unit NEXT to the general/BSB/damsel combo) and watch him get 5 or 6 strength silly attacks with RRs to hit (due to spells like bash em ladz being that bit easier to cast. Plus the wyvern. Then when you're hit back you have a 2+ armour save and (vs brets) a ward save too!

Except of course if you go second, in which case you will find yourself being stuck charging into the unit of his choosing! Which will probably be some peasants who flee, leaving you with your proverbial male organ out right in front of all those Knights. I do like Great Shamans on Wyverns, but I'd skip the Savage part! =)
I love the savage part. It takes a while to get used to, but because you have such a large charge range you can get away with it. I suppose it can depend on the time and place. Remember the wyvern is also frenzied, and don't have to charge the closest unit.
How Would a Black Orc Warboss with Heavy Armour, Shield, and the Battle axe of the Last WAAAGH do in a unit of 30 Black Orcs with Shield and Spirit Totem?
it's about 762 Points...
just wondering what the venerable black orcs out there think of this?
thx for the tips, i like the goblin combo but in larger games 2000 or more i find it a waste of my hero slot. the big unit with mork spirit totem is also in my list that was fielding the combo i wrote in the initial post, only i use 25 big uns instead since i cant have more hero´s. since the other 2 slots are lvl 2 n goblin shamans for magic protection.
and maybe the orc item list doessent lend itself good for combo´s but what about units that really work well together
If the two Ng shamen are for magic defense only, you could scrounge 70 pts by not making them level 2.
With those points you could buy such things as a staff of sneaky stealing, dispel scolls, or even some magic mushrooms!
