When you read the section that restricts particular magic items to either Orcs or Goblins, it says only to an Orc or Goblin character. So that means an orc character ( BSB ) can carry Mork's Spirit-Totem and be inside a big unit of goblins. that's great for dispel dice
Maybe that's really obvious to everyone else, but i've always put the Spirit totem in big units of orcs

Well, i wouldnt put any Orc inside any Goblin unit, ever.
The different base sizes would make it awkward, even if it was legal(dont know if it is).
In fluff i cant imagine any reason why any Orc would be in a unit of Goblins.
Other than that its a good thing to have, but since i like taking multiple shamens i probably wont take it.
I've had this discusion before with people, apparently it is legal. You can also have cavalry models in orc units
Wouldn't be that great for dispel dice. Max rank bonus is 3, from the BRB. Thus, max bonus dispel dice is 3, though I suppose it'd be cheaper to do it with goblins and you'd be able to lose a lot more bodies before you start losing dispel dice.
It's perfectly legal. I've seen the same thing occasionally with the 100 point weapon that gives you + to strength and + to attacks for each rank bonus you have. If you're putting a black orc boss with Mork's totem in a goblin unit, it's always a good idea to take over 30 models and netters. The netters really help keep the boss alive and protect your dispel dice.
Sounds fine fluffwise to me.
Big bad black orc with fancy banner wanders into group of terrified goblins and goes - oi you lot of stinkies, cum wiv me before I squish you all.
I might squish you anyway but I have this fancy banner things see so cum ere
If you could mix them somehow, like the Gor/Ungor unit, id go along with that. One big Orc surrounded by lots of little Goblins is just wrong, i wouldnt do it, legal or not.
It's probably a pretty normal turn of affairs in most O&G tribes, a runt Orc or even a proper Orc bullies his way to becoming the leader of a gobbo unit or even a gobbo army.
The idea has merits, though I would use Black orcs so the unit does not suffer from animosity. Generally, Black Orc leaders in O&G units = more predictable army.

It also takes up two spaces (one in rank behind) for counting up unit ranks. (fairly obvious to some, sometimes a point of contention)

One Orc in a Goblin unit means a big diffenerence in base size. Unlike say, a Orc Hero on a Boar in a Orc unit, you cant just occupy 2 normal spaces with your hero. You`ll have to put him in the unit on a front corner, and even then things wont line up properly. idea is just bad.
