So, i played against a Dark Elf player yesterday (1500p) and got beaten (with much unlucky rolls on my side :s)
I was wandering if someone got some tips on beating DE with 2X10 bowman, bolt thrower and assasin as the units who did the most damage.
Any other tips are also welcome.
So nobody got a tip to defeat artillary from dark elves? Never played against them or something like that?
I'm no pro-player, but I've played most of my practice games against DE. I don't know what are the units in your army so I'll give you my general insight.
Use NG units (30+) to run across the board screening your Orc units from the missile fire. If you've got them, use the movement spells; or use the Waagh! rule to really cover ground as fast as possible. Keep your general close to the NGs to use his leadership on the inevitable panic tests that'll come. If you've got warmachines of your own, try to focus them on his Ballista.
Just run like hell and catch them in CC and it's (generally) game over for the archers. I know that they can be a pain (with multi-shots) but if you have just a little bit of luck (to overcome animosity) then I think you have a good chance in this match.
I hope that my limited experience helps you even just a little bit
Thx, i'll try it next time i play against them.
So i'll use a lvl 4 orc shaman (with some luck i get the Waaagh! spell) and 2 lvl2 NG Shaman so i can get gork'll fix it (can help with the enemy shooting fase) and maybe also hand of gork (a high lvl spell and not so easy to cast with a lvl2 shaman, but i'll give them 1 or 2 magic mushrooms)
I've used this against VC (i had the spell's i mentioned, but not the mushrooms) and i was able to cast the waaagh! spell 3 times, the hand ones. On top of that "gork'll fix it" made me win CC against a unit of 35 skeletons which included a corpse cart (corps cart had 10 hits but he dan realized he needed 6's to wound :p), i had a unit of 24 orc big'un with two choppa's. The VC player was not happy.
