so i've been working on a squigherd because i love the models and i heard they aren't bad on the field either.
and now that i have 3 teams i'm noticing problems with setting them up ( some how that giant prodder does not fit into the back-end of a squig)
how do you guys fix this?
do you use different models like ordinairy spearmen?
do you point the prodders away from the herd?
do you convert your goblins?
if it wasn't for the prodders and the tailed squig this unit would have no problem fitting..
and i would also like to ask you guys what unit sizes you use with this herd, do you want them to run&bomb using 3 teams max or do you make it a serious combat unit with more then 4 teams?
thanks for the help greenies!
i use 10 or 15 in a unit, never tried another option.
the goblins with the sticks i have put on diagonal bases, so they point alongside the sguig in front of them, then i put the trifork on one edge and the snotlingspear on the other edge. Like this it seems as if they try to keep the herd together

same here, with their low Ld and goblin aspects they have a tendency to break, so the less point invested the better. Its weird, but a unit of 20 will do the same job as a unit of 10, and actually worse than 2 units of 10. But I usually use them with the intention of loosing them . As fo' dem herders, I stick 'em at da back pointing inwards, over the backs of the shorter squigs, the bases aren't always level but oh well. One thing I do with them though, 1st rank I have 2 herders on the edges, after that rank I put them in the middle in case of flank attacks, but there's probably better ways to position them.
I've converted all my herders so that they are the same size as the rest of my gobbos. They're not far down my ToP list so hopefully some photos won't be far away.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
