I've just got my hands on 140 Night Goblins, and im looking for a colour scheme different then black.
Im considering a winter theme so my first idea was...White, using Astronmicon Grey to paint the cloth, and all the characters in a red to make them stand out. Now i was quite happy with this, rite up until some pointed out that maybe having an army in white hoods which looked like a particular group of people with less than admireable views towards race, wouldnt make me very popular.
Well, with that idea well and truely out of the window, i'm looking at ice blue cloth, maybe with half white painted faces.
Just woundering if anyone else has some ideas for winter colours and themes.
ahahaha Clan Goblins
i wonder if those white pointyhats still exist (not talking goblins now)
frozen skin: blue/white tips
theres a few people online that made their goblins look like santa's
dark weathered brown cloaks, with snowed bases
perhaps the space wolf colours used on goblin cloaks... wolves and goblins go hand in hand anyways
Mine are basic brown.. a bit like theyre desertgobbos, doubt it would look good in snow

Ice Goblins would be great. Go with white/grey robes, maybe with a sepia wash to take them off-white and make them less Klan. I'd also investigate a turqouise skin tone, highlighted with light blue. Or a pale blue skin tone highlighted up to white.
That's a few goblins- you could probably just do a few trial models.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
I can safely say that neither Ice blue or hawk turquoise looked very good at all. Khemri brown although not making me feel il when looking at the model as the other two schemes did, didnt give me the effect i was looking for. (dont think the red boots with the ice blue helped).
Im going to try Shadow grey as its quite dark and see how that goes, hoping that the snow basing and possible half blue faces of the goblins work gives me the winter effect im looking for. Still may experiment as the paint monkey sugests and turning my green skins blue skins.
Will give an update when i get round to it.
Since the black seemed boring I've been going with various blues for the cloaks with each goblin being slightly different. I really can't conceive of goblins having the wherewithal to put together matching uniforms!
I'll post some pics up as well in the next few days...
im amazed it hasnt come up yet but....winter goblins...christmas elves? paint the goblins in flesh tones paint the cloaks in red and free hand either a white strip or triangles around the rim of the hood, green stuff a little ball at the top of the hood and paint that white and then paint the bottom of the cloak white too or for that matter use the games workshop snow for a fluffy effect...and you has christmas elves in santa clause uniform....you may all think this is rather silly but im sooooooo going downstairs to paint 1 up right now =P
what do you all think?
