Azhag the slaughterer
Grom the Paunch
I prefer to make and equip my own lord
As i have noticed at the locat gw, there is always debate amongst O&G players regarding special characters. Who would you choose?
As a pure goblin army player, Skarsnik is the only viable special character for me.
Grimgor, without a slight hesitation.
I loved grimgor in the previous rules. In the new army book, he is still very good in combat, but i hate it that evryone targets his unit so much. By the time i get into combat (i usually play against dwarfs or other shooty armies) his unit is down to maybe 10 and he doesnt stay around for long. Its frustrating. Is that just me or do others find the same issue?
I dont use special characters, so i voted for the best looking one!
Warchief Diggah o da Bloodmoon Squiggahs
Well...the problem that i face every time that i play is Ld!!!!Lets face it.O&G suffer from Low Ld value. Especially gobbos!!!so if i run a game with both orcs and goblins, i will put Gorbad Ironclaw.
Ld 10... and with the steadfast rule that makes us stubborn....Plus the re-roll of failed break tests because he is the general and battlestandard bearer....Boy oh boy!!!!
And the most importand fact is that his radious is up to 18''!!!!
So i always put him for sovling the Ld issue.
If any gobbos are not included in the list, then i go with Grimgor.
I tried once to play with skarsnik...But he's got only 6+ save!!!!
I voted Skarsnik, I love the way he changes the game with his sneaky schemes, plus we houseruled in my area that he's Infantry, not Monstrous Beast, so he doesn't get Stomp but he gets Look Out, Sir! just like everyone else.

Personally I don't really use special characters but If I had to choose it would be Grimgor. He's just nails and the model is cool.
The model for Gorbad is cool too but his rules seem a little lacking. Especially for 'Da best Warboss dat Eva lived'
I would certainly go for Gorbad Ironclaw simply because he is brilliant for keeping the vast majority of your army in line. Any unit in his army within 18" gets to use his leadership of 10 with a re-roll and gets to add his current number of wounds to their animosity result. In addition to this he is no slouch in combat either and can really dish it out.
His rules really reflect the fact that he was the greatest orc general that has ever lived. However it really is a case of all of your eggs in one basket with him. You get him killed and the army will start to fall apart.
Basically life sucks, there is only war and you're probably gonna get eaten by Tyranids, have fun.
Currently Skarsnik, but once i get my savage orcs going I'm going to use Wurrzag, his model is just so awesome.
