I have a spare dwarf cannon and an empire cannon. I play against dwarfs a lot, so i was thinking of converting and using the dwarf cannon (or empire one) as a spear chukka. Id make it look orcish and stuff it with spears. Id either have it crewed by orcs and goblins or have the bully whipping the dwarfs into subordination. Although i doubt the dwarfs would allow to be slaves, so this idea might work better with empire cannon and crew. What do you guys think? Usable in a battle as a spear chukka? O&G plunder a lot so it would kinda make sense. And the opponents expression would be awesome lol. All input appreciated
Very good plan. I've seen many spear chukka conversions in tournaments, many look much better than the metal model on sale.
Goblin wolfrider and orc infantry have nice spare spears parts on the sprues
Warchief Diggah o da Bloodmoon Squiggahs
Put spears in the gun tube...
If I wasn't using both dwarves and gobbos I'd sneak that idea! Sounds propa!

Personally i'd buy a leadbelchers cannon from one of those bitz websites (one with the most easily removable arms, might take a bit of resculpting after you cut them off but it does'nt seem too difficult). If you already have a cannon I guess it saves money skipping this part but i'd be inclined to get some plastic card and rod so you can attach little pieces of scrap on to the cannon to make it look like it's been repaired on the spot.
Also with ogres in mind they already have some spears and other pointy objects to glue to the end of the cannon, all you'd need to do is build some sort of orky transportation chassis and then model a crew for it. Myself i'd buy some gnoblars (their's loads of really characterful ones that they just mix in with the ogre kits so you've got something to put on there bases) then attach goblin heads and gubbins on to them and your well away.
If i remember correctly theres even a gnoblar with a stick on fire in his mouth clutching a barrel of gunpowder that would make an excellent crew piece in the leadbelchers kit.
