Welcome to Librarium Online!
With the new book out, is it possible to have a unit of squigherd of only nightgobbos and no squigs to have a immune to psychology unit of nightgobbos? If so, got any good tactical ideas with it? Loosing possibility to have characters, standards, musician, fanatics, nets, spears, shield... When could immune to psychology be worth that?
at first i thought exactly what you wrote, but it doesnt say that you have to have a minimum number of squigs for each night goblin. I dont think the author assumed anyone would take a whole bunch of night goblins without squigs as aspcial choice ust to get the squig herd bonuses without squigs. its not worth it. squigs are so good. id take a minimum number of night goblins and max the squigs

I was thinking about it. it seems possible (I ahve teh bookzies Waaaagh!) there's plenty of stuff that's ItP in the new book , but one important difference is the nerfing of the Size matters! rule, thats where handlers can help out!
I can see goblin hordes fleeing from a destroyed pump wagon.. or troll.. or anything really. Putting a small unit of ItP rank n file in between should fix that. Snotlings could do that, but at the same cost as 20 handlers, they're unstable skirmishers who don't have 3 ranks (but they can shoot on the march pew pew)
HOWEVER! why not add a rank of squigs and look awesome (prefering the second rank, just to show the guy how cheesy you are) And don't forget to remind him that shooting at that unit will most likely eliminate the precious squigs...

So perhaps its more fairplay of having atleast one squig then, and I like the idea of having 5 in the second rank, beeing able to attack without getting attacked huh?
Nightgobbos with only handweapons and no threat of fanatics, no standard etc isnt a real threat, but what I was thinking was perhaps getting 2 cheap units of 15 immune to psychology gobbos running around (without fleeing after a few arrows, wreaking havoc to rest of the army) that can be ready to flankcharge units already in combat to negate rankbonuses and get some extra combat resolution...
Having 15 gobbos for 45p is a real bargain, adding 5 squigs almost doubles the points spent on the unit so depends on what one should have it for...
Anyone else got other tactics?
What are the flaws of my plans?
I run a horde of squigs in my army. The things eat anything that comes in front of them. (40 S5 attacks at best!). the 15 gobbo idea is nice but.... it's kinda lame, not? and those small units cause panic too if they are destroyed...
