Just wondering if its worth waiting on a prayer that goblin wolf riders get a wave release anytime soon or if i should dabble with the new Spacewolf Wolves. Them look massive and alot more impresive than the current eddition mounts which must be 10-12 years old by now if not older.
Space Wolves Fenrisian Wolf Pack | Games Workshop
Shouldnt be to difficult to mount the current riders on them and cut away any cyber parts that may stick out. Its just a shame all cavalry lists arent too viable these days.
Anyone else got examples of converted goblin wolf riders or ideas for them?
Just happened to bump into your post. I was discusing this very option in the Edinburgh GW and I bought the Wolf Riders kit and tried the legs on the shops Fenrision Wolfpack and they fit nicely. This caused me to quickly puchase 10 Fenrision Wolves and this is the first result (apologies for poor quality of pics):
Obviously still a work in progress, but so far I am very pleased with the results, they look so much better than the original wolves and they fit pretty well on them as well. I pinned the Gobbo's on them without glueing them into place, easier transport and painting.

when i first saw the fenrisians i thought they would be way to big for my gobbos, but these look great!

now to decide wether i want to spend 100 bucks to update my wolfriders... choices choices.

Looks amazing, Dutch Orc!
That is AWESOME. Looks like I may be investing in Fenrisian Wolves in the near future.
Just a quick update, after a full day of painting in the Edinburgh GW here is the result, as before, a work in progress but I got 5 of the Wolves almost done, some tweaking to go and a lot of detail work. The greenskins are far from done, only some of the foundations done.
Anyway on to the pics:
Off to work for a few days but will let you know if I bump into any problems.
Greetz and thanks for the comments
Good work, sir. I'm liking the color scheme chosen (multiple tones of fur FTW).
They certainly look good, glad i had ordered the bits now. may have to do a bit of greenstuff work on the goblins though to make them look more at home on the wolves.
I am also contemplating now using the larger wolves from the space wolf cavalry as single models to pull chariots. Better yet i may just do away with the chario part and have multiple gobos riding the larger wolves as the whole chariot.
Will have to look more into his before i commit to the idea.

Absolutely excellent !
Never thought of using the new wolves, for mounts in fantasy .
Now to see, if they will take chariots ...
