Hi all , so I have all the core I can want but my army is missing a lot Of rare and Special. I was wondering if u could give me pointers on what to get next so I don't waste money on bad units. I have plenty of black orcs and a few lords and Heroes but that's about it. Also it would be good to know how to take down woc bc that's the only one I have probs with thanks
I love squigs in every fashion. Herds, hoppers and manglers. These all will give you a nasty punch to your army and flavor it up really nice. A lot of people will say its absolute garbage but get some artillery(doom divers, rock lobbas and spear chuckas. Spear chuckas rarely do you any good as they are usually firing at 5+ but you get them for 35pts so you have probability in your side. Also wolf chariots in units of 3 have a nasty swing to them. Another idea, but not a great one is giants. Giants are huge targets and can take a few turns of getting shot up so you can get your guys where you want them. Now a block of 6 trolls is a nice unit. These are just my ideas so don't take them to heart, but proxy them and see what you like.
Awesome how many herders and manglers I was thinking 10 and 3 ? Also bc u can have up 2 12 spear chukkas just doing a line of 12 would that work agents woc? Or would I be wasting money nd Pts ? Thanks
Specifically for woc I'd run with a unit of 30 squigs+10 herders horde fashion, 2 manglers, and 2 doom divers and as many rock lobbas as you can muster.
when it comes to squigherds theres a few optimal formations (i find them optimal)
15 squigs, 10 herders, a small unit with a few ranks, but it can do alot of damage and has the potential to end up in a flank, because its not too big. and its very cheap for its effectiveness.
20 squigs, 10-15 herders. my favorite. just as big as a small goblin unit, this is big enough to get a few casualties from a magic spell or two and still bring the pain to anything with lower initiative.
30 squigs 10-20 herders. this is a large unit, in horde its sick but it loses fighting ability for every arrow/ spell hit it takes.
Unfortunatly im not a bg fan of smaller than 15 squigs units. Because the squigs can die in super speeds, arrows hit mostly squigs, same for spells, templates devour the unit and when you face an enemy with proper fighting skills (WoC) then the unit goes down the drain before you can say Waaagh!.
i agree with Andie Davies ofcourse. Doom Divers manglers fanatics and the sorts, even trolls. They make Chaos armour go splut. Worst thing about chaos is lots o attacks with high initiaive. so if you use herds, make sure they go for a flank.
Formation: you can go 5 wide, but its alot better to be 7 wide with lots o squigs up front. they have small bases, so they get to attack all 7+support even when facing some small dwarf hammerer unit. and boy do they eat hammerers for breakfast!
Hordeformation is useable for the expensive squigherds with 30+ squigs. I must say a superlarge horde of 30 squigs was batter in 7th, now i dont like their immobility, so i would prefer 2 smaller units of 20 squigs+handlers instead.
Warchief Diggah o da Bloodmoon Squiggahs
Thanks guys this should help a lot XD
