Hi all,

I'm setting up an Orcs and Goblins pirate army. I mean to invest enough time in it to make it look really good, and I am brainstorming as to what models and which conversions to include.

I am considering a great shaman but a warboss would be more cool I suppose.

Normal orcs and common goblins can be given green stuff woodel legs, eye patches, hats, etc. If anyone knows cool obscure models, please let me know.

Savage orc pirates can be done, painting scheme and a few tweaks as in harpoons and reed shields or giving them choppas and swords instead of bone clubs.

Black orc pirates are rather much metal, but they can be made rusty because of the sea spray.

I have made up my mind about the goblin chariots, small boatlike constructs with sails and several giant waterrats or amphibian creatures. This I would have to sculpt or cut from foam board myself

War machines can be fitted with a kind of pavise, made from a ship wreck's hull, also scratchbuilt.

Sea Giants or Trolls are options, but i'd rather have another regiment I think.

If anyone has some tips or comments, please let me know.

Well first of all this should be in the Orcs and Goblins section, not in the fluff section.
About the theme, I've heard it discussed before, and it seems pretty cool, but keep in mind that it will mean a huge amount if work for you. I would use a warboss over a shaman and call him "da captain". Give him a proper pirate hat.

Are there any figures floating about that use curved sword blades? Cos you could use them as cutlasses - very piratey that. And your warboss just has to have a parrot on his shoulder

They can be found at the Rackham site. Dunno the link, gonna fish it up :\

I know about the rackham minis, i checked them out on coolminiornot.com. The Rackham miniature range is awesome, but the thing is, GW tournaments dont allow those minis, unless you include conversions with GW parts.

Ah, didn't think of that. Make sure you give them those pieces of cloth the low rank pirates have around their heads. Red, aren't they?

Like the one in the middle. Like a bandana that covers the whole top of the head

I've been looking at those rackham mini's and i think ill cheat at the tournaments, they are just too nice too miss. And if they'll make a fuss, ill have 6 spare gobbo's no problem. Those orcs, too, GW should be like that.
