Yesterday I faced 3 VC players for the Lustria Campaign. I only won 2 of the games.
I lost 1 of them fair and square, i might have won though but time ran out and they were winning at that point, I had killed 1 of their necromancers and had 10 Duelists right next to the other, I just had few troops left.
I lost the other to the person lieing about how many points they had. They said they could only feild 650pts and I agreed to find out they could feild around 1000pts worth of undead. If they had not lied I would have used a differnt army list and had a better chance at winning.
The game I won was becuase I got the Necromancer trapped on a bridge and wa sable to blast them with magic.
Here is my advice: Only agree to a game at the maximum point limit they can feild, they way they dont get their advantage of summoning past the limit. I wanted to punch the guy in the face when he took out extra units form his bag, he said he could only feild 650 pts.
Think we've all had that "wonderful" game where the opponent isn't as honest as they should be. Vs. Vampire counts I've seen lots of games come down to the shooting phase. Vampire counts are usually well versed in magic, so sometimes it takes a little bit of shooting like Ruglads, Stone Throwers, Spear Chukkas to ruin their day. Ackward army to play against with Orcs and Goblins, congrats on the wins.

i find that savage orcs with 2 weapons work wonders against zombies and skellies, they dont have to test for fear when they charge, if theyre still frenzied, and they have a bucket load of attacks..... wat more could a green skin want???? dont answer that
oh and good work with the wins to
Way to go cheater! Only agree to games that take away the Vampire Counts #1 advantage and kill half their magic phase just so you could play with more points. Sounds like a winner of an idea to me.Here is my advice: Only agree to a game at the maximum point limit they can feild, they way they dont get their advantage of summoning past the limit.
I'm the cheater when the guy said he ONLY had 650 pts with him then pulls out 1000 more durning the game? OK have you taken your medication today? I could see it being fair if he didnt say thats all he had but he told me he could not feild anymore than that.Way to go cheater! A Vampire Count player ALWAYS needs to have ALOT more skeletons than what he actually fields. If he doesn't own the skeletons for raising than he can't raise them. Thats why VC always have a smaller army list than their number of models owned indicates.
As long as he summoned them fair and square in the magic phase, you can hardly call it cheating.
Vampire Counts have fairly weak troops, just compare skellies and zombies to orc boyz and you'll see. Goblins are weedy too, but then compare the price...
Anyways, I'm going up against some VC in an upcomming campaign, any real advice against them, tactics, what units to include/exclude, etc. ?
Yeah it is no way cheating VC need more guys left over to summon mid game.
Take a load of shamens and shut down their magic phase, that tends to screw them up. Also hit them with loads of rock lobbers and bolt throwers in case they have black knights, squish them and you should be fine.Originally Posted by Gorbass

As far as serious advice goes:
1) Lots of Goblin Shaman with Dispel Scrolls.
2) Black Orcs to keep the Gobbos in check. Animosity will kill you even worse vs. VC and charging fear causing units is never nice.
3) The only real way to kill them is to ake out the necromancers. I having trouble killing mounted ones becuase they are so fast however ones in units of skellitons are vunlnerable to massed Gaze of Mork and Arrow Fire.
4) I use my Ogre Kingdom Bulls to charge through them like they are nothing. The only stratigy that has worked for me in the passed with smart VC players is 6 Ogre Bulls charging then over running through all the speedbump unit right into the unit with the Necros and killing them.
