I was hoping to get some advice on beating my Ogre Kingdom playing friend.
Here are the basics-
1 savage orc shaman
1 orc leader on boar
30x orcs with 2 hand weapons
19x orcs with shields
20x night goblins
5x boar boys
12x black orcs with great weapons
and I think that is everything....
Now my friend usually uses a lot of ironguts, a gorger or two, and sometimes skrag. We usually play games up to 2000 points and the big games are what I lose in.
So any suggestions on what to use to beat him, what strategies I should use to beat him, and what I should by to better my army against him or other armies.

first drop the Night Goblins there 2 small to do any thing at there size also you need more bour riders. the black orcs are a good chose as they should mce the ogres and the large unit of orcs should be able to brake what they fight as orges a weak agianst full ranked up units.
Ogres are fulnerable to being charged in the flank so thats a good tactic with the chariot of the bour boys also they dont like multi would weapons so a warmaichine might be a good idea

Get 5 more boar boys, give them shields, spears and upgrade them to big'uns. Make 2 units of 5 and they will kill anything they hit. Just run them into a flank and you got it made.
i find that to beat ogres (which i have done a few times) you need magic, and lots of troops. the more the better! you could also do with wolfriders to deal with gnoblars, and those rear charges that realy anoy oger players as they cant take all that out numbering.
Bolt throwers work a treat against ogres, strength 6 and no armour and then they do d3 wounds. And on top of that they are dirt cheap in points terms. Waagh spells like gaze of mork and brainbursta tend to hurt ogres a great deal as well.
My most successful game against ogres so far has been putting my general on a wyvern and flying him in behind the ogre lines. Once you combine a front charge from some boarboyz with a rear charge from the wyvern you have them toasted.

I have found the bolt throwers are golden against ogres. Usually i'd use 4(2 full slots worth) In addition, warpath his murder against them if you can get it off. Orc missile spells also are great like brain busta's.
I usually deploy 2 big hard units of orc boys and then set a strong flank to try and wrap around. Wolf riders go for the gnobblars, and boar boys try for the flank of the Iron Guts. In general, when you charge ogres you can usually beat them in combat with Orcs. You usually outnumber them, and you hit on 4's.
Fanatics also help, but not as much as normal. the D6 wound thing just doesn't hold up vs ogre units, plus ogre saves are generally as bad as ours... so negating doesn't help.
Ruglad's actually work pretty well, stand and shoot any time you can, but you really have to deploy at least 14+ for them to work nicely.

I suggest some larger creatures- trolls, a giant, or even come DoW Ironguts- ogres with GtW can make a mess of anything- even other ogres! That, and the Spear Chukka. This little beauty can cause a lot of damage, and you can take two!

Hey guys first time user and big lizardman player. I’m doing a mighty empires campaign and one of my opponents is ogre kingdoms. I played a friendly 1000 point game and got massacred. So wiith the guys I have, I could use some advice I was thinking pure magic and using this army list in a 2250 against his. Thanks for your thoughts.

P.S. in case your wondering about champions, i think lizardmen champions are not worth it.

how the heck did you end up in this 4 year old post? Im no expert on lizards and stuff, this is the orcs thread. You could try going to to the lizardmen thread instead :p
anyhooo... your list looks ok to me...
about those lizardmenchampions, i think your absolutely right! I have no trouble taking those champions out, but their slann and skink priests scare me everytime.

Going back to the Orcs vs Ogres question.....
Your right about bolt throwers, they can be the magic ticket here.
Believe it or not, Green Skin magic is also an advantage you have going into this battle. Ogre magic is practically not existent or enough to swing a battle his way, whereas yours can.
I say several BIG mobs of Orcs and Goblins to give you more power dice. Your shaman need to be on foot of course.
You want one really good sized mob of Boar Boyz, probably bigun's. They will pretty much give you the charge that you will need. They need to be on your flank and need to essentially get there, and run down his line as they approach.
Doom Divers also can help. They do enough damage to do attrition to the Ogres. Unless you are combining up to take down his units of course, chances are he is going to get stuff to CC against you.
Your units need to be big enough to withstand a charge and have enough of them that you can counter flank them.
A Giant also would not hurt and you will have to weigh out between a Doom Diver or a Giant. There are reasons to have either/or/both.
Troll's honestly are not that spectacular vs Ogres.....they won't hurt but there are better troops to be used vs them.
