Does anyone have any tips for a new greenskin painter. I've started painted some orcs but they look really goofy.
there are a couple of ways of starting with orcs. First you can go nice and simple and start with a black undercoat with a goblin green base coat, then use a lighter shade of goblin green to highlight raised areas and giver a contrast.
If you look at the GW website there is a section on how to paint orcs. They suggest a black undercoat with a base coat of dark angels green, then use a thinned down snot green to pick out highlights and then a thinned goblin green top coat. You can then use a green ink wash to smooth out the lines as well if you like.
Oh and with armour I tend to use a darkened chainmail colour to get that unwashed look and then give it a dry brush with tin bitz to look a bit rusty/
Helper monkey, bring me beer and donuts
thanks for the tips, i love to get non GW advice once and a while
