Does anyone have any ideas how i might go about making a shooty goblin army with maybe some fanatics thrown in and a giant for comedy? Just saying something like this will dictate I probly need help. Oh well, wut else is new.
Eh. A horde of goblins with bows,6 bolt throwers, 1 stone thrower, 1 doom diver, and a giant. Mix until firm, and you get the standard cheese goblin army.
Forget bows. You'll get one shot off, lucky if you get 2, they'll cause minimal casualties and then you'll be in melee and a world of hurt. Far better to stick with CC weapons and leave the shooting to the war machines. Remember, at anything over 8" you've got an automatic -1 to hit, and with a basic S3, you won't be mowing them down in hordes.
yeah but he could have tons of bows i mean it's not even funny how long the shooting pahse would take him
He may get the -1 at over 8 inches but at less than 8 inches his opponent is catching some fanatics in the face :w00t: And he gets a stand and shoot reaction.
Goblins won't kill much with bows but in enough volume they will kill something, even if it is by accident.
Helper monkey, bring me beer and donuts
I think rather than using a horde of bows, it would be more useful to mail the arrows and hope for papercut casulties.
Think I read something like that in a white dwarf magazine.... (In a battlereport where the orcs lost, to woodelves! )Originally Posted by Fideru
Anyway, its not bad to take goobos with bows, as they will lose combat even with spears and shields. Having fanatics in a bow unit makes the enemy really annoyed, as they dont wanna charge trough them just to smash a few 3- points gobbos. Then they will have to wait at 8" and endure more shooting from the nasty little buggers. Sneaky, as gobbos should be :shifty:
