I was reading through the army book, and the spider banner kind of leapt off the page at me. I instantly thought that it would be amazing when used in combination with a large unit of gobbos with short bows. So my question is, has anyone used the banner in this way? Did it work at all, or was it just a waste of points?
it would be a great idea if gobo's had normal bows. the downside of gobo's and shooting is the incredible short range of the bows... well they are named short bows. if your planning on using them against an opponent coming toward you you might be a good idea IE against flaggelants. however your still Str 3 and allowing regular. Best used against units without an armor save or against things you normally couldn't wound... IE giant
40K-Beakies(9-14-4),Guard(4-7-2),Orks(34-12-11). FANTASY-Dwarves(15-6-7),Beasts (14-14-1), Skaven (17-17-10) DoC (6-1-2). CYGNAR (28-15-1)
Put it in a unit of 40 Night Goblins with spears and throw 20-21 poisened attacks at the enemy and if you put a boss with 2 hand weapons in it it could be quite nasty.
But yes it would be quite a powerful and nasty unit.
Greenskin: Oh by the way, did I tell you all these gobbos have poison? :shifty:
Thou shalt remember:
Warhammer Fantasy armies do NOT have Codices. They have Army Books.
