Just a quick question about the goblin wolf riders. I have mainly seen them used in units of ten for flanking. But I was thinking of maybe using 3 or 4 small units of 5 and using them as screens and also to harry the enemy's units early on by forcing them to charge at angles exposing flanks. Is this a good idea or not really?
Well they're fast cavalry, it's what they're made for.
I'm not sure about the screening though... Try snotlings. Iirc they block LOS.
5 Gobbos with a musician = go flank/rear hunting, or deflect & distract =]
Spider riders are also quite lovely for this job, but are slightly slower.
They are not a combat unit (most fast cav, don't stand up to a decent combat unit very well) but can get a decent flank/rear charge at times (against weak foes)
They can really only screen well for orcs, because orcs don't care if they flee
