It's about as long and tall as a Land Raider, but not as broad.

I'll see if I can get mine done tonight and show ya. I've been procrastinating on it too long anyways....

thanks would appreciate it, wanna make it as accurate as possible in terms of dimensions so i can use it in tournies
"how big is a battlewagon??"
How long is a piece of string?
Okay, my camera blows but my battle wagon was about five-six bases long (base to base) and around 3 - 4 wide. How tall it is kinda depends on what you're putting on it.
EDIT: That'd be regular troop bases.

I'm currently making one by constructing a box-y type structure that slips over the top of a Leman Russ. Maybe a bit small but i'm adding a bit of length to it so it should fit the bill...
Meh the size just outta the box is fairly vague and can vary depending on what you decided to put on it. So, as long as its about the vague dimensions I gave and has some gamesworkshop bitz in it I'm sure no one will really hassle you much. Post some pics when the beast takes shape!
Good luck!

The appropriate size of a 'custom' battlewagon is an argument that's gone on since the new codex was released. After several heated debates, and the release of the official model, the bottom line seems to be:
No smaller than a Leman Russ.
It also helps if the model is tall, but as for lengthxwidth, a Leman Russ is large enough, and a vindicator might be as well, as long as it's the newer model (not the old tiny one), and it has all the armor plates.
In short, battlewagons don't need to be as large as some people make them. If anyone claims that '20 Orks can't fit in there', just reply 'if 12 can fit in the old trukks, and 10 marines can fit into the back half of a rhino, then 20 Orks can fit in there'. ^_^
