Anyone thought about adding a Farseer w/ Runes of Warding and two units of Pathfinder Rangers to their orks? Some of the lists out there are total crap, and I hate some of the allowable combinations. Really, who would ally with NECRONS!?!??!

"We were raised by television to believe that one day we'd be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars. But we won't. We're slowly learning that fact."
I don't think I'll straight up ally with anyone with my Orks. That does not mean I won't use the allies rule, but that I'll convert or use count as for my allies. I think Orks have it the best in that regard. You could take a master warhead and some grot or boy snipers to use and I think it would look great. Just having the Eldar units there won't be as cool. I have Tau too and I'll be converting Orks/Tau units and not using my own units. The Tau wiped out the Orks to save the Kroot, and I don't think they should be allies, but nobs in looted broadsides will look sweet.

Someone on one of the Ork boards mentioned the fun fluff side of taking a Farseer and a unit of Pathfinders as a crack unit of Eldar that goes around following this particular Ork Waagh in order to take out enemy high value targets and the like. Sounds fun.![]()
As for Necrons, you could easily convert up the whole tinbotz/botboyz idea.
The idea that a crazy mek found some Necron tech or something. (Or maybe he's just crazy) and went about konvertin his ladz is pretty cool.
And don't forget MONOWHEEL BOYZ. (I have a load of mouse wheels for this perpose!)

Or a farseer and a unit of rangers using the Orks, it can happen.

These alliances seem based on power-gaming. Which I find lame. If you're truly going for a fluffy alliance, go for it, I guess. Anything else is just cheesy, in my opinion.

Orks never ally, they barley manage it with other orks. That said, I would like to see orks "pretending" to be other races for count-as reasons. That would be cool to see. Gretchin snipers as Rangers?![]()

Now there's a juicy idea... eldar would make good gretchin! They're also weedy, kunning and squishy.

Talking of allies...
Now that's just not fair. Only orks get to krump allied grots!

This allies thing makes me cringe :/
"What? We have a lack of something in our Codex? Well that won't do, rather than think out of the box to get a way around it, lets just take some allies to plug the gap, huzzah!"
Mainly in response to Fenrix's link. Urgh.
I don't mind there being two separate armies fighting on the same side, that's an alliance. Not, "Oh we'll just take your best units thanks!"
