As one of the hardest fleets to play I was curious as to why there aren't that many topics on how to use them. Please post fleet lists, tactics behind them, and any other helpfull knowledge on how to make them a usefull fleet. This is for the pure Space Marine fleet. NO ALLIES. And plz dont tell me to just not do them or how expensive they are (i.e. Battle Barge). I've already heard this a million times. Try to discuss how to get around their handicaps and make them a usefull fleet.
Basically make this a thread for any and all PURE Space marine fleet lists.
If you're choosing to play them with no allies, you probably won't get much of a tactic thread going.
For starters, perhaps 1 in 20 BFG players have even considered playing a straight SM fleet. Maybe 1 in 25 have ever actually done it. Since they aren't the most dominant fleet, most do it only as a fun experiment from their main fleet or a mixed fleet, and I don't want to guess how many BFG players play a pure SM fleet as their main fleet. Maybe 1 in 50?And it isn't like BFG players grow on trees anymore.
Then consider they only have 2 cap ships to choose from, only a handful of escorts, and basically their strengths and weaknesses they wear on their sleeves. They're like a shotgun firing buckshot. It's pretty obvious what they do, and how they do it. Not alot to discuss.
Nothing too subtle about them. Nothing really to talk about, and very few people to talk about it if they wanted too. Unlike the Imperium or Chaos with dozens of ships, or the Eldar/Tau/Nec/DE/Orks with special rules... they're limited in choice, limited in special rules that would need to be discussed, and VERY limited in players that play them... limited in all the sort of thing that gets threads going.
I'd say if you want any real discussion of them as a solo pure fleet, you need to at least let the folks on here who use them as allies. That would at least give your thread some population. Excluding those people probably isn't helping you, but let them on and let them chip in and you might be able to tie it into what you want.

Making Sisters of Battle into Women of Battle
Give a Rep Star if you like what someone said. Especially Me. I'm an unabashed Star whore. Blame my 2nd grade teacher and those stupid good behavior stickers. I'm just conditioned. I'm the Pavlov's Dog of stars.
