I don't know if this is the right place to post this,
But does anyone here play Aeronautica Imperialis? I've bought the books, and it looks like it would be a lot of fun. I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with the game in general.
I had sort of come up with a scenario that I can hopefully play as a solo scenario
Choose one aircraft. This aircraft had the typical equipment for an aircraft of its type. But it has 200% additional ammunition to all of its weapons. Additionally, such is the legendary skill of the pilot that he may perform an 'extreme maneuver' (use two maneuver cards) every turn. And, once per game, the can perform a 'legendary maneuver' (use three maneuver cards) with a successful pilot check. Also, the craft gets a 5+ 'durable' save
The objective is to weave your way through enemy aircraft, defeat ground defenses, destroy an objective, and disengage without being shot down, or running out of fuel.
Build a 'large' ground complex using the rules in the aerounautica Imperialis rulebook. The ground force may have additional models. Ground Defenses and opposing aircraft are equal to 4 times your lead aircraft's point value, but only 50% of defending aircraft may be airborn at the beginning of hte scenario.
If the attacking player wishes, he may bring wingmen with on this mission. No more than three additional aircraft. These aircraft are in all respects 'normal' for their class and type. But points spent on each additional aircraft chosen by the attacker are matched by the defender for additional ground defenses.
A similar idea is for a 'clash of aces' where instead of ground defenses, it's just a massive air-to-air 'furball'

I've play AI. I like the concept you have, but I don't know how well it could be pulled off. :-\ I tried to send two Hell Talons straight at an Eldar warp gate to bomb it, going through 3 AA guns and 3 fighters and they were pretty much dead upon arrival. (It could've worked if my squadron mates listened to me but no, they decided to go for speed over survivability.)
I play AI too (Orks).
The concept of the scenario looks quite nice, but 200% ammo AND a 5+ durable save is pretty nasty, considering that AA overall has a hard time hitting targets. (Well, unless you're a heavy AA *groans*...).
