I've just got back into Gothic after playing as chaos before.
I'd like to know what kind of fleet (number of escorts etc) is the way to go with Eldar.
At the moment my 1k list has a void stalker, an eclipse and the two light cruisers.
What light cruiser do you have? Both? If so cool. But in the official rules the Aurora is the much better one.
So you the big ships covered. Under 1000 games use the Eclipse and the Auroras (1 or 2). Above 1000 points switch the Eclipse to a Void Stalker. If the games are large enough you can use both.
Well, what do you need?
Nightshades & Hemlocks are a should get. At least 6 of each.
The Aconites, about 3. Expensive but a serious punch.
Avoid Hellebores. Always.
Eh, I find hellebores work pretty well as "squad leaders" for nightshades.
The Eclipse is awesome, as are hemlocks and aconites. Nightshades are needed to push people around with torpedoes, so you can use your speed to pick off stragglers. I've found you really only need 2 squads of those, to get the job done.
In the end, though, its all about how you use your ships. That's my favorite thing about BFG.
Right here we go:
Eclipse: Pirate Prince, 1 reroll
That comes to 995 Pts.
I would say drop two of the Aconites and get 3 Night Shades. You already have a lot of lances. Beefing up on torps will help you with fighting enemies that have long-range weapon batteries, such as Chaos.
Arvan'drynn Craftworld - 15,000pts (deceased)
Tau - 2,000 points (atomized while on patrol)
Hmm. The Aconites do provide him with necessary Weapon Batteries.
I would say: drop an Aurora, take Nightshades.
