    Hounds of Chaos - 2000

Hey, my chaos fleet which is based on hitting hard and fast. Although, it packs quite a long ranged punch, and has some decent carrier capacity. Along with some fierce close range skills.

    Heavy Cruisers:
    Hades
    Warmaster

The plan is to squadron these to minimise Lock On rolls. And when locked on, these are a nasty bunch.

    Cruisers:
    Slaughter

    Slaughter

For some reason Slaughters always remind me of Warhounds. I think it's because I use them in a similar role, light fast tactical firepower. But it's nothing to sneeze at. A pair of slaughters can broadside most cruisers to the edge of oblivion. Although in my fleet these will stay behind the main wave, and dive in once the fighting really kicks off.

    Carnage

    Carnage

What can I say? Ranged Weapon batteries that are nightmares in close quarters. Adds to the ranged punch.

    Devastation
    Chaos Lord
    Re Roll

Hehehe, the carriers. Squadroned with the Lord for the LD bonus. I don't want to be missing any ordnance nastiness.

So that's the fleet. Thoughts? Everything is welcome =]

Looks like a pretty cruel fleet to face off against. Lots of heavy guns, a good bit of carrier space, and almost all of it at equal or better ranges than most other fleets.

My own fleet looks pretty similar, swapping the Slaughters for more Carnages, trading a Devastation for an Emasculator, and pretty much dropping all the Heavies in favour of a Vengeance and an Acheron.

Your point about the Lord sticking with the carriers is one I hadn't thought of, but it's definitely a good idea - especially if we find ourselves needing to break up torpedo salvoes and such in a hurry!

Ever thought of adding some escorts? While Iconoclasts just don't seem to be practically useful for, well, anything at all, the Idolators and Infidels are looking like a handy way to get some Lances and Torpedoes where they'll hurt the most!
We've got plenty of youth... How about a fountain of smart?

    Good fleet.

If you use escorts I'd say Infidels.
