Just stumbled upon the rules for Necromunda and their absolutely amazing. I love the level of detail that it goes into. Has anyone thought of playing Necromunda not as gang fights but rather as a smaller scale fire fights in 40k? Like a squad doing a fire sweep of an area or on patrol or something similar?
Don't get me wrong I think the whole gang aspect is cool and the campaign system seems ridiculously fun although I'd prob "make up" my own gang using some of the other gangs rules to get my own look and just convert from cadian and catachan and such. but at the same time I can't help but think that a squad of Tanith clearing a sweeping a city block only to find pockets of blood pact held up here and there would be awesome.
Anyone thought of this? I've already started adapting it somewhat, I've come up with rules for Space Marines although they end up 350 pts for a single marine that comes with a bolter (with the ammo roll at +3 instead of +6), knife and power armor. I'm planning on doing orks as well and eventually Eldar and genestealer cult (can't picture Tyranids in small numbers unless its a genestealer cult with maybe a lictor)
Most Notable Achievements:
Killed a Revenant Titan in one shot.
Killed 900 pts worth of Blood Angels in 2 turns while only loosing 4 pts.
Necromunda gives you much more flexibility in terms of campaign creation so making your own gangs to play in a campaign is fairly easy, provided you have the "go ahead" from the other players.
I personally prefer to play Necromunda over 40K because of the speed of the games and the freedom of fluff generation.
In terms of rules generation I would simply import the unit Stats from 40k and figure out a rough point cost based on the scale.
Though I dont think the individual character skill advancement table as it stands in Necromunda would be applicable to most races in a campaign.
Not sure if you saw the 40K Checkmate Thread
(http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...checkmate.html (Warhammer 40k: Checkmate))
Which is something Similar to what your planning, but using the 5th ed rules with some changes to allow Overwatch and other special orders.

The gangs are pretty cool, i have an Escher gang myself! The Lizzies have yet to fight a gang, but they're looking keen all the same!
I would quite like to start a redeemer gang in the future too!
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
