Welcome to Librarium Online!
Well...you read the title. I want to do either Eldar or Chaos, most likely Chaos. How would I start?
If you want to start chaos then the starter box is a good choice. It contains the rulebook, special order dice, lots of markeres (you need them) and four chaos ships as well as four imperials. You could use the imperial ships as showcase models, sell them, or convert them into chaos ships. After all, lots of imperial ships turn traitor. You could convert them to the grand cruisers that can be found in annual 2002 and BFG armada.
If say you and a friend both bought the box, and traded ships (one person is traitor, one is loyalist), would the resulting fleets be worth a damn? Or is it better to split one box between the two of us and buy the rest of our ships piecemeal?
That is exactly how i came to play battlefleet gothic. I now have over 24 cruisers, 4 battleships and lots of escorts, all starting with the box set that i split with my cousin. Hope that this helps you some.
Hoorah! 101st Airborne
Box set is a must. Check ebay for additional deals on fleets or friends for trade. I have 5 fleets each one I bought some ships painted them, tried to use them in battle, and then added more. Used could be a good start if you don't mind someone else's paint job to start.
Generally the first idea is better. Regarding the price it's almost the same as buying all thse cruisers seperately, but all the additional markers and special order dice that you get will be really useful.Originally posted by mEGALOMANIAC@Aug 9 2004, 21:23
