Welcome to Librarium Online!
This is my first go round with BFG, let me know what you think about this list and what can be improved
1 extra reroll
Emperor w/shark boats
I plan on grouping the two Tyrants with the Gothic and all three Dauntless together. The Mars will pound away with the Nova cannon and the Emperor will go make trouble on its own or possibly with some escorts. What do you think? Sound solid or is it rubbish?
Firstly, welcome to LO. Your fleet looks good to me, but i have a space marine fleet so i only have one type of cruiser to choose from ! Have you read any of the other posts on the imperial navy ? There's a wealth of experience here and usually someone more knowledgeable than me would have replied to your post by now. "portmaw" is a very good site for BFG apparently (i cant get it at work ) and "warseer" has a BFG forum thats excellent.
Have you assembled your fleet yet ? Dont know much about the navy, but most of those ships are made from the plastic cruisers i believe, of which i'm quite jealous. Just built my first battle barge and strike cruisers, metal kits and not easy if your over 21 but i got there in the end.
Good luck with your fleet.
Oh ! Advice ! Only suggestion from me would be to drop the two Firestorm RSVs and spend the points on more rerolls. Watch me get smacked for that one.

Jager bombs. Very efficient at wiping out friend or foe.
Its a good start but you need to focus your ships so that they combine strengths
First you already have the Emperor for attack craft you don't need a Mars as well personally i would drop the Mars and Gothic in favour of an Armageddon and Lunar combo producing a withering hail of fire in all directions and a hefty wave of 12 torpedoes.
Second your Dauntless squadron should all have the same prow weapons to maximize efficiency so either a wave of 18 torpedoes or a strength 9 lance salvo both very powerful but since you will already have a large complement of torpedoes with 4 full sized cruisers and Cobras you might want the lances to finish off ships or squadrons (strength 9 lances lock on is very scary)
Third the Tyrant isn't very good with only mediocre weapons at different ranges you could do much better with either 2 Lunars or 2 Gothics both offer a powerful torpedo salvo and a devastating broadside it all depends on who your fighting.
Lastly your Firestorm escorts are only good in bigger units so you should change them to Swords and make either 1 big squad of 6 (strength 24 weapons!!!!) or 2 smaller ones of 3. Since Cobras come in blisters of 4 you might as well use them in 4's so if you drop the Mars and and the re-roll you can squeeze in 2 more or you could just use 4 and get a bunch of re-rolls to reload them.
You will want to use your escorts to all ahead full behind the enemy forcing them to do on of 3 things:
1. Wasting all their first 2 turns of firepower wiping them out
2. Turning around later to deal with them and slowing down their entire fleets momentum and giving you a way to divide his/her fleet up
3. Ignoring them in which case you get to fire a strength 24 weapons battery and strength 16 torpedo salvo at rear armour every turn (assuming you reload)
The rest of your fleet should stay together supporting each other through the first couple of turns and by then you'll know were to put them depending on were your enemy is.
