    Epic base sizes

I am looking to start epic and don't currently have any models. I really want to get started playing games right away, and will make cardboard bases and replace them with actual models as they arrive. I just need to know the general base sizes of various units.

So far all I know for sure is that a standard 5 man unit is 40mm/10mm.
I still need to know the size of biker/mounted units.
    support platforms.
    walkers.
    titans. and more.
Any help as to the sizes of these units would be much appreciated.

Hi there. No fast service here ....

I only have the old bases, which still are legal. They are 20 mm x 20 mm. They can be used for every infatryunit, bikes, attack bikes, dreads, support weapon, cavelry, and skimmers who need a base like land speeders.

When it comes to the "new" bases, see the main rules 1.1.2; the size of the stand and number of models glued to it are left pretty much for the player to decide within the following lilitations:
    - a stand may be no more than 40 mm and no less than 5 mm across in any direction.
    - a stand must be at least 20 mm across in one direction.

So you can have bases which are 40 mm x 20 mm, 20 mm x 20 mm, 40 mm x 10 mm etc. You can have 1 or as many models on it as you want.

Titans which use a base (not all of them) have larger bases. The base was a circle of 60 mm for the larger titans, like warlords and reavers, but square 40 mm x 45 mm for smaller like warhounds.

    Good luck

Yeah I have over 20K pts of Chaos, 10K of imperial guard of the epic Armageddon rules
Squats may be a bad word to most 40k players but maybe demiurg might not be to different when they finally arrive.

    As he says,

My FW Warhounds use a terminator base, Some of the 60mm Titan Bases were flat (it makes little difference)

I'm using the 10x40 "strip" bases for all infantry, and the square ones for Cavalry (bikes, rough riders. oh, and sentinals - back in the day i used to use 1p coins)

I have hundreds of the old square bases, and ordered the "strip" ones for the infantry. but it's personal preference. You could use cardboard octagons for all it matters!

p.s. I used pva to apply all my infantry (and basing with oven baked childs play sand - much smaller grains of sand than the 40k gravel)
If i wanted to I could just chuck them all in to a bucket of water for a bit and they'd detach !
