Does anyone here always field a Battleship in 1500 points? What about all Cruisers in 1500 points, anyone always do that?
Firepower wise is seems that a Battleship is about as powerful as two Cruisers, and the cost is the same as two cruisers. But it sems to be that a Battleship would be much more survivable, what with more shields and more dice rolls to make repairs on the fly.
What do you guys think, value-wise?
I actually prefer all cruisers. A single battleship can be easily singled out and destroyed. It really depends on the force though. As chaos it's very easy to do all cruisers because of the moderate and well balanced feel most of the cruisers have. Obviously Tyranids have to have hive ships though. I don't have too much experience with Eldar but multiple cruisers always worked with the speed that they have.

Really depends on what fleet you play. Tau obviously want an explorer or custodian, and Imperial fleets can't really go wrong with an Emperor class. Then a tombship may be overkill/rude in that size point game, or for Chaos, who's battleships aren't generally considered as powerful, would be better off sticking with cruisers.
What fleet are you playing? We could help you much more if we knew this!
