Welcome to Librarium Online!
I've heard it said that daemonships are extremely rubbish, and to a certain extent I can see why. It just takes too long to shift them back into real space and the fact that they can only do so just before your opponents turn seems to render the whole nasty surprise a bit moot.
But, I love the fluff, and in the long term I think they could make a really interesting modelling project when I have the money, so I've been looking for a way to try and use them, and something hit me.
What happens if my entire fleet is composed of daemonships? Can I start with nothing on the board and then phase in my entire fleet behind enemy capital ships?
1) Is that the stupidest idea ever?
2) Assuming it isn't, which ships would excel in such a situation. The Repulsive seems quite a natural fit, being slower than other ships and relatively short ranged. Carnage and Acheron also seem quite suited to enormous mid-range broadsides. Anything else?
Im not completely sure about the rules for a daemon fleet, but it seems to me that you would need some sort of house rule on them to get them to work as an entire fleet.
