i was wondering how many people play gothic. post here if you do and what fleet/s you have. the reason for this is i am thinking of getting some but want to know how many people have gothic.
thanking you in advance
I play Gothic, got a 1500 pt Imperial fleet, also considering starting a Necron fleet. Great game
if i was to get gothic it would be imperial or marines. imperial because i have imperial guard and marines because i have found a list of all of the ships, stats and points in a white dwarf.
do you think many people play it because ive been going to a wargames club (mainly gw products) for 4 years and i have only seen it played 6 times.
It's not terribly popular, but it's popularity has been growing. Most people that have played it however, honestly say that it is the best game ever made by GW.
ok so what would i need to get to start a fleet (imperial)
and is it a complicated game. there are so many different things i have heard of (i.e special orders - what do they do)
To start an Imperial fleet, the best way is to buy the starter set, you get 4 cruisers, which is great. Also, you get rules, counters and dice. The rules aren't too complex, and they are very realistic. Special orders aren't that bad either.
ok so how much is the starter set
Well, maybe you could look online for it instead of asking....
It's like 40 Dollars. It comes with rulebook, counters, 4 Imperial Cruisers, 4 Chaos cruisers, measuring sticks, and dice.
ok i will have a look on gamesworkshops site.
My gaming group just started picking up BFG in a big way, and we're starting our Winter league combining 40k and BFG. Several off us are just starting our fleets, and to be different, I'm going to start up an Ork fleet (how about a Space Hulk - 40 hits!.
I'm suprised that GW isn't selling any of the starter set pieces (book, dice, markers, etc.) separately, but I guess I'll pick up the starter kit and use the plastic ship pieces to make up the Space Hulk.
