Is there anyway to buy just the markers and stuff from the BFG game? I don't want to pay $50+ for an imperial fleet that I have had noone show any interest purchasing from me just so I can get the little freaking cardboard torpedo markers, blast markers, thunderhawks, and such?
More GW garbage if you ask me..... :realmad:
You can also buy the green BFG special order dice online. But they are expensive. I think $15 for 6 dice (!!!. If I were you, I'd seriously consider getting the Starter set anyway. Its a great buy, plus, even if you don't plan on playing Imperials or Chaos, you can trade or sell the ships to friends. Only reason I suggest this is because so many players play either Chaos or Imperial, and you're getting 8 cruisers, valued at about $60 US, as part of the $50 set which has every other thing that you need.
If you don't have friends who will buy them from you, then you can sell them on ebay for a decent price. You'll usually get about $5 US for a cruiser still on its sprues, so that works out to roughly $40 back. That way, you're only spending $10 to get the rules, markers, dice, range-ruler, etc. But your call.
It's not much of a problem. I use the chaos ships for target practice, or mockups of other ships to try-out new tactics. Or you can convert them, Imperial ships are new, and sometimes leave the fleets to join with Dark Gods, and Chaos ships are just old Imperial ships. Really, GW did a good thing, and put interchangeable fleets in their box. As for some of the other stuff they do... yeah, its cheesey.
