What does codex cityfight have in it?

    Special rules for engagement?

Are there any modified wh40k rules and such?

It has all the updated rules for playing in a cityfight scenario, it has "how to make scenery" for cityfight, it has some pretty cool Scenarios for it, and has a fun battle report in which Imperial guard get totally mullered.

I'd say its a recommended purchase.

The codex pretty much sets up its own game system for urban warfare. It takes some basic aspects over to it, but it's a unique game experience. It also goes through for each army (each one released when it was published, at least) and updates their rules for cityfight use, much like they did when v4 came out for every codex.

As has already been said it includes quite a lot of rules alterations eg. height Advantage.

Its well worth the £12 I paid for it, and I've read it about 50 times over the last year. Its only now though that i've finally got my Cityfight Army Sorted out!!!

Mobility is key, so Jump Packs are incredibly useful. Also, since most buildings in Cityfight give you a 4+ save, armies like Imperial Guard (dunno what the armour save is on Tau) really benefit. But I can imagine that if you get a unit of Fire Warriors dug into a building you sure as hell ain;t getting them out without blowing up the building.

It's an excellent read, almost worth buying just for the artwork and fluff.

    Cityfight/Orks

My Orks love fighting in the city. Anything that will give us a 4+ cover save vs a 6+ ordinary save is a godsend for us.
And my Harlies get an 8" squad coherency rather than the 4" allowed inside buildings.
Try a Cityfight campaign using Disney World Orlando as the map. Keen sport. We had a lot of fun with this one.

For the Ig, you can split your 10 man squads into 5 man combat teams to increase mobility. You can also split up heavy weapons squads into teams and have the gun be stationary. They can only move if there is an officer or commissar within 12" or something. All the tanks can have seige armor also.

Parts of the IG section may have to be re-done with house rules, as I think Cityfight came out before the latest IG 'dex. Marines too, although they didn't have as many differences, something about being adaptable to every situation I think.

'Nids would be a fun army in Cityfight. Imagine a 'fex smashing his way through a wall, while winged bugs perched themselves up high above the fighting, and little bugs scrambled over the rubble. Entertaining image, isn't it?
