Welcome to Librarium Online!
My friends at a local gming group play thus FOr BFG Imperial, Necrons, Chaos (me)

Murder class c (strenght ten frontal wb replacing lances , tested to be even points 10 wb blow thru +6 armor just as much as lances, at least on the tests)
Murder class c
Murder class c
Murder class c
Note: on the murder class c its so named because i used torpedoes for bow in class B
not that effective
So any one know how to kill Necrons or suggestions on my list
What ships does the Necron player have?
As a Necron player myself, I know you will have a very hard time in defeating a Necron fleet. As im feeling generous, I will give you some helful pointers/things to watch out for:
1- Necron ships can take a beating, with 6+ armour, and a 2+ sv when braced, your best bet is to concentrate on one ship at a time.
2- Try to get the necron ships half damaged, or even disengage, as you will get a lot of victroy points.
3- the Necron fleet can run rings around any fleet, with D6x10 for all ahead full.
So make sure you are not out flanked.
These points should prove helpfull, but remeber that a fleet engagement with necrons will always be very nasty. Good luck!!
i know when i get a hold of the armada book from my friend ill check but he had a tomb ship a harvest cruiser one of the triple moon ships with a piramid on it then tons of escorts. the game i played it was chaos vs necrons vs Imperial. My imperial friend and i teamed up to try to kill him using like a 1500 pt battle. We failed. slaughered with him loosing maybe 2 escorts. Note i even used a swarm of bombers for 3 turns i sat churning out bombers from my cariers some 23*3or 69 bomber squadrons he had braced and i hit with 90% of them he saved after that i tried to kill even one ship while my fleet was blasted. I fled with 2 cruisers wich escaped of the edge of the table. One of our house rules is if a ship can limp of the table and still have more than half its hp then doesnt count towards victory.
Oh and the fleet has been nickanmed the Jolly Chaoss because of the color scheme Blood red Regal blue And dark angels green With mithral silver highlights
Just a quick note... but isn't your fleet a lil bit illegal? Don't you hafta have 2 reg. cruisers for every heavy cruiser, thus you would need 8? Sorry I can't be of help with the Necrons though.
if you look carefully at stat ines "heavy cruisers" = cruisers so not illegal
Although I have a Necron fleet half built right now (can't finish it, damn 40k Eldar army holding my attention right now...), I don't know much about how they play as I haven't actually gamed with them yet. All I know is what I have heard, and the concensus isn't promising.
They are the toughest fleet in the game (arguably), and you will rarely defeat them straight-up. This mean's you'll probably never destroy more ships than they do, and need to win based on victory points (where the Necron special rules help you).
Beyond that, I know you should go for expensive targets. Ignore escorts, unless they're really bugging the crap out of you. Hit his Tombship if he has one, because if you cripple or destroy it, he's probably just lost too many victory points to beat you. Failing that, hit his cruisers with all you've got. Remain focussed. Also, I have heard that lances are the best weapon to use against them, so load up.
Oh, one more suggestion: this is one battle where you might like to skimp on the escorts. I normally suggest a player take more escorts than cruisers for a variety of reasons, but I know the Necrons have some nasty weapons that just chew escorts up, killing them before they even get a shot off. Beware the star pulse. Two of those detonated in succession can obliterate any escorts surrounding the ships that fire them.
Good luck, admiral...I wouldn't want to be in your chair.
notre the fleet list i never really used escort i consider them underpowered and as it is with a flotilla of carriers escorts dont stick around for long but yeah i was lookin at my friends armada book and apart from the anticlimatic chaoss section i noticed the necrons have thier own critical hits system. so one of his ships shoulda fragged. alas i hate the necron player for the cheating git that he is.
him..."i cant remember the tabl;e but i remember that a sepulcher could really hurt your carrier fleet"
any way thanks for the advice and may your fleet gain many in its harvests.
Yeah lances are best as they always hit on a 4+. WOuldnt rely on escorts or any ordance on their main cruisers (the tomb ship and scythes) as their star pulse generators will decimate them. Its a 20 cm radius by if two hit an escort ship its gone and even ordances thats stacked will be lost if it gets one hit. The scythe and tomb ship are the ones which will asorb the damage. Always try to get them to brace for impact as his armor is lowered to 4+ while brace for impact is active.
