I was wandering what necromunda was? I heard of it before but I don't actually know what it is. please help me.
Yours truly, The Evil Betty
Its High Detailed and realtivly cheap game. You dont get ton of models but they put alot of time into the rule book. Basicly its post apolictical Gang Warfare, You can find the rule book for free on the GW website.
Also the starter set is pretty much all you need to play and its only $40.
It's, in very short, a game with gangs fighting other gangs. The setting is in the vast mess of the underhive, and you fight for money, territories, honour... You name it. You, as a player, get to know your gangmembers quite well. You name them, make up background stories, and give them personality.
As you play them (usualy in a campaign) They might get scars, loose a limb etc. You just add it to their character. They keep on going. They also grow older and more experienced as time goes on.
In Necromunda, there are four different ranks of fighters. You have one Leader, usualy the most experienced, toughest, coolest person in the gang, then you usualy have one or two Heavy's. They are the ones with the big guns. They have usualy been with the gang for a long while, perhaps going way back with the leader or with each other. Next you have the Gangers. They are experienced fighters, and you would usualy have most of them. Last you have the Juve's. They are young, inexperienced, but gain skill fast. In the beginning they are cannon fodder, but if they survive for a while, they become gangers and will gradually become very good for your gang.
You start out with a certain amount of territory. The territory can be anything from a swamp too a smithy (if I remember correctly) The territories determine your income, new Juves wanting to join, and loads more.
As you fight, you might win or loose more territory.
There are many different houses (clans) of gangs. The six main ones are Escher, Goliath, Cawdor, Van Saar, Orlock and Delaque. They all have their special features and areas of expertice, but I recommend that you read at least some of the info on the necromunda homepage (linkage) If you want to know more about any of this.
Last I can only say that one of the most appealing things about Necromunda, in my oppinion, is that you have a more realistic approach to casualties, damage taken and to the whole game in general.
I claim the title of "mistress of the vindictive"
