in necrominda the types of weapons an individual can wield are pratically infinite as time goes on buying rare weapons and such.however none of the model have inter changeable arms.
has anyone ever figured out if it was possible to do this?
it might be best with guardsmen since the plastic arms can hold many things
i never heard anyone magnetizing anything other than a vehicle or a fex....

You should be able to magnetize just about anything, even the tiny rare earth magnets are rather strong. I would try to stick with plastic models, however, as it's a lot easier to drill the holes you need that way. Plus plastic is considerably lighter.
it is possible with most models. you need a pinvise and 1 or 2 magnets of 1.5 mm ( 1/16'') and or a small nail. you either drill a small hole in both parts or place the head of the nail , that you clip of, on one side. choose one that is attracted to a magnet tho. with some care you can almost make the construction invisable. i used this for a space marine commander and some assaultmarines. also for special weapon teams such as plasmaguns and melta's. often you have enough armes to model the weapon on, but not enough bodies. i can just switch them when needed.
pewter is harder to do. but i expect it to be possible. it depends on how heavy the part is. i use rare earth magnets, those are very strong.
