Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm currently torn between the Emperor Class and the Oberon Class imperial battleships. I know they're near identical, except the Oberon replaces a strength 2 launch bay with a strength 2 lance. Is this worth it? I'm currently leaning towards the Emperor class.
What are other's opinions?

Depends on the opponent. Usually I favour the Oberon, but would prefer to take an Emperor against Dark/Eldar.
"It fits like clothes made out of wasps!"
I'd prefer an Emperor any day...recently the bat ranges of the oberon have been reduced to 45cm, if i recall correctly. And two lances on each broadside of which you'll only be firing one broadside most of the time are not worth losing four launch bays.
Well...and "Emperor Class Battleship" sounds cooler
Myself, I play a craft-light fleet. In games of 2000pts or above, I usually stick with a pair of Mars battlecruisers for my attack craft needs, along with however many SM Strike Cruisers I happen to field. Emperor? Never could learn to love the guys. My big ships usually exist in a "smash the enemy head-on" role.
Oberon all the way, baby!
Oberon is more well-rounded IMO, but nothing beats being able to swarm your enemy with wave after wave of your own men...er...bombers.

Personaly I would go for the Emperor. You can get your lances off BCs, but 350pts is so cheap for 8 launch bays in the Imperial fleet, if you in a game large enough to justify BBS, Emperor is always my forst choice.
