Welcome to Librarium Online!
There are 5 or so people at my hoby store who play BFG and I was looking to join them. As I play Nids in 40K, and most other races are already represented I was planing on starting a Nid fleet. While I know they aren't the easiest fleet to play it is not a very competative atmosphere (at least for BFG), so I won't mind losing more then I win.
However I have been unable to find any examples other people's fleet lists. I have a few ideas of my own, but I would like to see what other people have done, what ships work, what guns they would recomend, how many hive ships to crusers, to escorts etc...
If anyone has any recomendations, or prehaps lists they have used in the past, I would appreciate a look at them.
Every time I look in this board I see this thread, resolving to look for the nid list I drew up before I started my fleet. Me and my dad were inspired by the nid ships at conflict london a few years ago so splashed out on expandable foam and ornamental fish-tank shells. Maybe I'll remember it now I've posted, but probably not.
But from what I can remember, I wrote a list with 2 hive ships, one at Ld9, with 2 rerolls and an imperative, with 5 cruisers of varying confuguration, filling the rest of the points out with a pair of escort drones, 2 kraken and a load of vanguard droneships. If thats helpful (probebly not) then use it by all means, I'll try and find what it actually was for you.
Thanks for the post. I'm looking for the 1000 point range to start. Two Hive ships and 12+ escorts of various types depending on points.
I just admit then when I started my other armies I looked at lists people had posted online to get a feel for how a list of that army looked like, then figure out what I like and use it.
But I haven't been able to find any specifics on what people actualy use, just generalites, and broad tactics, not that those arn't useful.
In my opinion it's better to max out of cruisers depending on how many hive ships you have, but in 1000 points it might be a better idea to just take the one. The lists I wrote were all 1500 points as those were the sizes we were playing at my local gaming club.
I did have a look around before for ideas of Tyranid lists/tactics but since the fleet list is so varyable and also quite rare (you don't see terribly many nid foleets compared to the rulebook ones, or even other Armaba fleets) the amount of resources is quite low.
