Powerstations and Frag Missiles.
I just played my first two games of CoD. We were pressed for time so we just picked some easy building strategems. My Dark Angels Dev Squad held a Power Station with 4x ML shooting Frag Missiles vs his Iron Warriors Havoc squad toting 4x Krak Missiles holed up in an Ammo Dump. He was re-rolling misses for Krak and I was re-rolling wounds for Frag. He was averaging 3-4 wounds and I was probably averaging 5-6 wounds. I so totally owned him that in the second game he put his Heavy Bolter Havoc squad in a Powerstation and unleashed 12 shots re-rolling wounds. Ouch.
Anyone else discovered anything about a Strategem they want to share?

Infiltration and Sacred Ground
Let's face it, with Inflitration as standard for Traitors I can't afford NOT to take inflitrate. A couple of 5 man traitor units with flamers are nice and cheap and can inflitrate. First turn; Burn, baby, BURN!
And, as a true Wordbearer, could I not take Sacred Ground?
I've not played, but I was looking at the rappelling lines for a Beil'Tan army. Has anyone played this strategem, and seen it work/not work in a game?
Also it seems that the sewer rats and booby traps would be good strategems to take.
Arvan'drynn Craftworld - 15,000pts (deceased)
Tau - 2,000 points (atomized while on patrol)
Sacred Ground and a 50 man conscript squad....... That really pisses the enemy off and is hilareous to watch.....
Sewer rats and demo charge squads with flamers, we pop out we flame we blow up, a fun day out for all the family!!
Inquistion force WIP. Pics on posts 17 and 23.
i like the command center stratagem for my tau. also i like barracades becuase you can put up some cover in open spaces of the battlefield and they count as difficult ground for the enemys. also i like booby traps becuase its useful in missions where the enemy has to enter buildings to plant flags. also amo dump is useful for devastators.
That is not dead which may eternal lie,
for in strange aeons even death may die.
I haven't had a chance to try it yet but I am looking forward to Sewer Rats for my FAGK and GKTs. Ammo Dump also sounds good for a 4x psycannon purgation squad.
Played last night with Iron Warriors in a CoD battle. Used Siege Weapon, Demo and Plunging Fire (sp?). I am going with this Artillery themed Iron Warrior army. Worked out well against a Nid army. I lost the game due to the guants running all over the place planting flags in every building. By turn 6 I wiped him out leaving only his Hive Tyrant and Carni. If we had extended turns I may have been able to pull it out by running to building to building to take them over.
Siege Weapon (I don't have CoD on me so names may be off a bit) was useful and next time I will use it a bit more often. I turned a strategic building that the nid player was using as cover to avoid my big guns into Dangerous Terrain. The nid player choose to go around instead of through with his nids allowing me to reposition my big guns to take them out. He was afraid of getting caught in the city ruins and it coming down on him.
Demo Building was also good though I used it in a dumb way.
Plunging Fire (not sure on the wording of this one) was hawt against Nids. I set ALL my CM squads up on the second and third floors of buildings and this helped negate that cover save that the nids get while in terrain.
ok 1 thing never use prelimenary bombardment, it is prolly the worst strategem ever. My favorite is the medicae strategem, im sry but marines with feel no pain is godly
My Librarian's familiar just killed a fire warrior and passed two 6+ saves, he has earned the title of The Familiar
I prefer taking Inflitrate, because lots of CoD missions are about getting somewhere, and is better to start near objective in good defendable position.
Second best is preliminary bombardment - You can damage enemy units before battle starts. he more he has units, the best this stratagem works. And orbital bombarding is just cool :-)
Third stratagem i like combat engineers, because smoke grenades could protect infantry unit when moving through street, but this is somewhat linked with my infiltrating CC squads :-)
Infiltration, and either Ammunition Store, or Medicae Facility [Depending on enemy forces and Mission]. I infiltrate 3 sqauds usually, sometimes more. If I'm playing against either Taum Eldar, or Gaurd, I would take Ammunition Store and stick some Inifltrating Havocs or Obliterators inside to unleash hell on his tanks. Against things like Orks/'Nids, prolly Medicae Facility, as FnP on marines IS godly.
