Welcome to Librarium Online!
Well I have finally opened the box sitting on my shelf with epic and battelfleet gothic stuff in it... finally
SO the epic and BFG stuff has been sitting for a year. I bought the BFG box set, the armada book, a blister of 3 firestorm frigates, a blister of fighters, and an emperor class battleship.
I'm making one of the 4 cruisers that came with the box set a mars class cruiser. any suggestions on the others??
Also, should I get some bombers or more fighters?
Is the blackstone fortress worth it or is it really cheap(game wise)?

Tyrants are nice if you like weapons batteries (I do). Lunars are pretty much the "workhorse" of the Imperial fleets and you'll never go wrong with them. If you play an Armageddon fleet (see Armada), the Armageddon class Battlecruiser is absolutely a blast. Don't take any more ships with launch bays, I'd say - a Battlecruiser and Battleship with launch capabilities is plenty of craft for now.I'm making one of the 4 cruisers that came with the box set a mars class cruiser. any suggestions on the others??
BFG is more about on-table strategy, though, than list building. You can't really choose the "wrong" ship, as all the weapons are equally useful and all the ships pretty much balanced for their points costs. I think a good variety is the way to go until you've played a few games and want to expand further. You mean, the actual models of them? Not a lot of people bother to use the attack craft models. I mean, they cost money, they're small and easy to lose, and you're given free cardboard tokens in the boxed set for them (and torpedoes). Spend money on Escorts and Capital ships first, they're a LOT more important. Also, should I get some bombers or more fighters?
If you mean "which should I use more of on the table", it all goes on game turns. If you're being swarmed with bombers, launch fighters. If you want to break through your enemy's fighter defenses, use fighters followed by bomber wings. That kind of thing. Since you don't decide "which" to take before the fight, it isn't an issue.Well, you can't use them in Imperial fleets, which I'm assuming you have based on your ship choices. Is the blackstone fortress worth it or is it really cheap(game wise)?
I don't think anything in this game is cheap - as I mentioned above, its fairly well balanced for points in every regard (for the main fleets, at least). Stations are, though, less fun to play - the few that can move at all are slow, they're hard to destroy, and well, don't belong in a fleet list. They're best for scenarios involving capturing a fixed emplacement, really.
