Welcome to Librarium Online!
i have just noticed that in the UK online store the BFG rule book is now £25 and with a hard back
when did this happen. it also says that is fully updated.
could this mean that the sad abcence of the boxed game that the game will be reboxed and given some new life? or am i just over hopefull. maby the UK games day quote of a BFG 2 are nearer than they where
you might remember the white dwarf with us in.
now you might be slitly tempted to look at the website!!
The problem is it does not include Armada.
Well, the guys over at GW Specialist Games have been saying for quite a while that they are going to get "BFG 2" up and running. I know this included a new rulebook, which is already out, but I am not sure if it includes anything else like model/boxset releases.
The new rulebook is tempting I must say. My current blue/grey rulebook is looking rather sorry for itself after too many years of use. I am hoping for some new releases (much needed!), and as the next SG release date is approaching it is possible they will include some BFG stuff there. One thing that springs to mind is the Mars-Pattern Imperial fleet. I saw some preview models for it years ago but they are yet to be released. Don't know about that though, it is probably just me being optimistic.
Whatever happens, the release of a new rulebook cannot be a bad thing. Whilst it is unlikely much at all has been changed it does show that the SG people are paying BFG some attention, hopefully bringing more public attention (White Dwarf space please!). Hopefully it will be a better effort then Necromunda:Underhive, that was bascially a cut 'n paste from the Old Necromunda rulebook with minimal changes.
Am I going to get it? Yes, but then I am a BFG-nut with several hundred pounds worth of vessels and an unhealth appetitie for space combat. I'm quite hoping it'll be a good buy.
Out of curiosity, is this an actual new rule book, ala what WFB just had, or is this just the old book with the 1.5 FAQ updates written in, ala what BB just did?
I'm a little nervous about 2nd Ed's with GW... usually by the time the previous edition is retired it was only a few tweaks from perfected, but instead of that, GW at times almost writes a new game... which is often then back to square one...
I always do however reserve final judgement till I've read it, and had a chance to break it in my games.
