Well, with the explosion of the Vassal program amongst the LO 40k community, it got me thinking.
Is there any reason that this can't be used to play some games of Inquisitor? How cool would that be?? I've been dying to try out Inquisitor, and here's my golden opportunity.
As I said over MSN, theres nothing stopping you from creating a basic version of VASSAL inquisitor; it already has the option for d10's. Though like I said earlier, the problem with inquisitor is that it is much more book keeping and narrative; not to mention that you should have at least two players and a GM.
As far as actual gaming, VASSAL is only a 2D program, thats fine for the 40k mod because you generally only have one level or two levels of terrain. Inquisitor is completely three dimensional because you can perform actions from any hieght in game. (Not only that, but character eye view is extremely hard to determine in a 2D setting.)
It would be awesome to be able to play inquisitor online, unfortunately theres a bit of oversimplification needed in order to get it working in VASSAL and that kind of detracts from the fun of the game a bit.
Take my love, take my land, take me to where I cannot stand; I don't care I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me.
