Oberon (Shark Assault boats)
Battle Barge (Master of the Fleet with one extra re roll.)
Now, I've just noticed, that in the Armageddon list you can't take Dauntless' or Dominator's x_x
How open are BFG players to bending rules like this? I mean, I've heard from RP all the time that the BFG rules are fairly good for... bending.
Its just I have an Oberon, and according to the lists, the Armageddon one is the only list in which I can take my wonderful lil Oberon (Which is somewhat pants if you ask me, but meh.)
Adding to it that I already own everything on the list, and so don't fancy having to buy other escorts and different types of light cruiser just so I can play.
Help and thoughts on this would be nice. I'd be grateful of your opinions on the matter.
Well you could always play them as space marine strike cruisers as a stopgap measure. I personally don't have any problems with you fielding some dauntless. The way the imperial navy operates in a war alone suggests that some might just turn up in a battle. (Flows of reinforcements for example)

[16:20] <@Kaiser-> I know he is.
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> He usually is.
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> Sometimes it's intentional.

Yea, thats what I was thinking.
I was thinking earlier that yeah I could always use them as Strike Cruisers, or some other form of light cruiser.
The Dominator could always act as another Tyrant, as they look the same bar the nova cannon.
I'll check it out when I get home, but I recall reading in there that the ships in the Armageddon book, while primarily assigned to the Armageddon sector, have been known to get put into other Sectors Battle Fleets. So I don't see why it can't work out with you carrying the Dauntless in there. Especially since the Oberon is the only Armageddon based ship that your using.
Edit: Ok, I read the Armageddon Fleet list options, and I see where your question is coming from.
From what the book says, you cannot have a Dauntless Cruiser in a list with an Oberon class ship. In friendly games, I doubt to many people would care, but I'm not sure how it would fly in a tourny or something like that.

I agree that in certain places the BFG rules can be bent slightly; I for one (and the people I've played in the past) likely wouldn't care if you included a few ships from the different fleet lists even if it did bend the rules slightly. They could easily be explained away as reinforcements sent from other sectors etc. Some people may have a problem, but only the sort you probably wouldn't want to play anyway. It would not work in a tournament, but I assume you mostly play friendly games.
Use of the 'counts as' rules are probably the best way to go. I would stick with the Armageddon list and convert the Dominator and Dauntless classes. The Dominator can easily be converted into a Tyrant, and to be honest another Tyrant will probably be better for your fleet. The Dauntless can be said to 'count as' any of the Endeavour varients or be converted and used as Space Marine strike cruisers. The Endeavour and varients currently have no model so would need to be converted from something anyway - so why not use your Dauntless models as a base?
It doesnt really matter anyway; as soon as I meet your fleet in battle with my Chaos Armada all you'll have to take home will be small piles of rubble and broken dreams
