Alright so to start off i had
Highborn - halberd, sea dragon cloak
Fellblade - halberd
Bellblade - halberd
Sorceress - crossbow pistol, dark elf blade, and started off with flamesword
2 corsairs with sword and repeater crossbow.
First game was against skaven in a skirmish and won with only loosing one body. The sorceress, nothing happened. One fellblade gained the infiltration skill. Not much money gained. Only 45 gold crowns. So i hired a thief to try to steal stuff for me in later games, the thief is armed with two daggers and a cloak that counts as a shield. And is nothing special with weapon skills and S&T.
Ryan - Dark Elves
Tom - Middenheimers
Mike - Dwarfs
Dominic - Orcs & Gobbos
Mike (wolfy) - Skaven
today we had a 5man brawl, wyrdstone hunt. I rolled highest for deployment and who goes first. The skaven got dead last on both and got stuck in the middle hut with only one way down. I picked the spot where my repeater crossbows could pick off any rats that tried to get down. Setup two x-bows on the top floor of a building each looking out of a window, with the thief hiding between them so i can keep him alive for later. The other four elves were started as close to the closest wyrdstone shard as possible for a quick grab. Next was the humans, middenheimers, they've got 9 models and are balanced between shooting and CC, more towards CC. He sets up a divided front one pointed towards me, the other towards the center and ready to counter the other side. Next was the dwarfs, who where combat heavy with 3 handguns for support. An engineer was fielded to have the extra range. The orcs are very shooty. 9 goblins with shortbow and mace. And 4 heros. Dom setup in a tall corner building. The skaven are on top of a large orc hut in the middle, with the 5 giant rats on the floor inside. The top is tall enough so they are hidden and cannot shoot over and cannot be shot at from ground level.
The game was great. Skaven were trying to make diving charges and two ended up splatting themselves. On the first turn a goblin ended up picking up a HUGE ladder. About 1/2" wide and 3" long. One gobbo kept having animosity just staring in that direction, for three turns the damn thing didn't move. The dwarfs set up a nice line of fire being able to shoot at everyone but me from their deployment zone or right outside of it, since we were on the far away corners. A human marksman and one of my x-bow guys had a shooting match for 3 turns, which 2 shots have a better chance than one. The giant rats swarmed my elves in the second turn and it took me two full turns to kill them all, well i left one stunned when the orcs got close enough to charge. First turn the orcs got within range of the x2 x-bows the warboss got one in the face. And the other tree went down on the first round of combat. The dwarfs and the middenheimers met at the ladder going up to the skaven and had to duke it out there, thats when it started raining verminkin.
It came down to the humans and my elves. The goblins managed to stay in for one game for rout tests but then failed. The skaven cut his losses and ran. When the dwarf player got down to just his engineer and one handgunner left he ran away. And the middenheimer fought until he had three people left, snagged the last WS counter and ran.
My high born ended up getting away with two WS counters and like 4 kills + winning + surviving. He gained 9 expo. points in one match. One fellblade ended up getting sold to the pits and getting stripped of his weapon and came back. The other was fine (who i forgot he had infiltration ) He gained a new skill, master of poisions, the other fellbalde who was Out Of Action (OOA) ended up getting another Ws point so he's at 6 now. The sorceress ended up getting a new spell, doombolt, which sounds very very fun. The corsairs gained +1 S, so they might get halberds soon. Now here is the BEST part. My thief ended up stealing me a cold one mount. And my leader had a skill to pick. So he got a cold one for 15 gc, the upkeep of the thief, He gave his halberd to the fellblade who ended up naked and bought himself two dark elf blades. So now my warband looks like this:
High Born - x2 dark elf blades, seadragon cloak, cold one mount (+2 to Armour save[3+ in CC 2+ from missiles])
Fellblade - Halberd Seadragon cloak (WS 6)
Fellblade - Halberd Seadragon cloak (Infiltration, Master of Poisons)
Sorceress - DE Blade, X-bow pistol (Doombolt, Flamesword)
Theif - Dagger x2, Theives cloak (counts as sheild)
2 Corsairs with R. x-bow and sword
Cold one mount (fear stupid scaly - +2 to Armour saves)

I think you need more bodies, Dark elves can be hard to play in mordheim, although yes they have amazing speed and initiative, they are also very expensive and make big targets
The Potion master ability is awesome, as is Lightning reflexes. Nothing suprises your opponent more when he charges in and has to wait to attack you. I have to admit I've never used the mount rules seems like something of a waste in mordheim as you cant enter a building mounted.
a beast master and beasthounds are a nice combo, they increase warband size and rating without adding exp each battle.
The skill that gives +1 to Step Aside and Dodge saves is pretty nasty too.
... only triumph could turn pooing his pants into a good thing..
Where do you get the rules for creating warbands that aren't in the main rule book (dark elves, lizardmen, etc.)?
The specialists games website did have the full list of official (and unofficial) warbands available for download, but I believe they have been shut down now. Most of the information was supposedly transferred to the new GW website, but I haven't really looked for it on there. Try it out, but good luck finding it in the online store they call a website.
Alternatively though www.mordheimer.com is an absolute gold mine. It has all the rules, official and unnoficial, and really is the best source out there. Also, http://boringmordheimforum.forumieren.com/forum.htm is a very good forum to check out, lots of helpful advice and articles, plus some of the best warbands I've ever seen.
